Lactation consultant
Sorry to crash, but can you recommend your lactation consultant? My insurance covers "individual coaching" and/or a class, so I'd like to take advantage of that. Ideally, I'd love someone who could come to the home when I first bring LO home.

I used Maria Fisher. I think she lives south shore western Suffolk, but works around Stomy Brook. I thought she was good.

I used Dr. Lauren Macaluso. She was phenomenal. She's an MD (pediatrician) who only does breastfeeding medicine now. You have to go to her but the apptmt is about an hour - 1.5hr. She's great. She was able to help me get DS to latch when another LC couldn't. Because of her, DS has been EBF since 4 weeks and he's 7 months now. And, she takes insurance!

She's who my hypnobabies instructor recommended. How old was your DS when you brought him to Lauren?

Peconic Pediatrics in Riverhead is awesome. They have several LCs and take insurance. Worth the trip if you're in Suffolk. I got an appointment the next day and brought DD at about a week old which got me out of my ped's suggestion to supplement and went on to ebf for 16 months.

I used Grace Harold in Smithtown. Older woman. Wonderful, supportive, nuturing. Helped me so much when dd didnt want to latch. I nursed her for 27 months!
