My suggestion is to go to a LLL meeting - the meetings are free. If you can't find one, I used Kathleen Waldow and she really helped me. She is a LLL leader and is so patient. She is the third LC I met with and the only one who helped me. Dr. Macaluso told me to just give up, so I would never recommend her. Kathy helped me keep going and gave me continuous support when I needed it. Let me know if you need me to find her contact info.

Many hospitals also have free breast feeding support groups. You can call the local hospitals and ask. I know Plainview has one, not sure where else. It was the most helpful thing for me. I went every week with questions for months. Also made some great friends in the process.

I did call but they don't take outside patients. But they referred me to the person who told me about the group at Winthrop.

I registered for the group there and got there and the group wasn't happening - I was the only one signed up and the leader cancelled. I was pi$$ed!!! Definitely call before you go.

Me neither. She said some babies just don't want to latch and to just let it go - that DD was stubborn and preferred the bottle.

When I told Kathy that I remember her telling me that DD prefers me over any bottle and that all babies WANT to breastfeed. That is what kept me going.

Can you tell me what town she's based out of? I'm trying to look for her online.
