L&D/Lamaze Classes
First of all, I know this might be dumb, but are they the same thing? Also can anyone recommend good classes in the suffolk county area, especially ones that are held on weekends. TIA!!

Re: L&D/Lamaze Classes
I took a class that covered both. Lamaze was a small portion. I took it through CFA in smithtown. Their number is 360-2880. I also took baby care basics and breastfeeding through them. They are wonderful and helpful there.

L&D/Lamaze Classes
The class I took wasn't Lamaze -- that's kinda gone out of fashion in recent years because it was a lot of hyperventilating, which isn't as constructive as they used to think when it comes to labor. There are other terms for breathing and coping techniques for labor & delivery these days. The class I took was a L&D class at my hospital (I'm out of state so no help with location) and we did a lot of Bradley method, and just a lot of education about what's going on and labor techniques and ways to handle pain (I didn't want to get an epidural if I could help it). It was a great experience. A lot of hospitals offer classes so maybe call where you're delivering and ask?
