KP Psych Center
New documentary of the KP Psych Center... while I always find the views of the building interesting, I find it equally interesting to here how other people perceive it as an enigma, with all it's mystery. It is so commonplace to those who grew up in KP with it operating in our literal backyards, while the patients roamed the streets of town, where it was just always there, not shrouded in mystery. It was a place where friends, whose parents were Drs, lived on the grounds in houses and I would go hang out at, just a place where I learned to drive, just grounds that were simply shortcut home between the middle school and my neighborhood, a place that once housed Town Hall where kids would gather to receive their KPY trophies, where the buildings backed up homes in the neighborhood, close enough that you could see in the windows and hear the patients on a warm day and the windows were open Always cool to see though.

KP Psych Center
I used to sneak in there in high school. Never to cause damage but it all fascinated me. It's so sad to see how much graffiti is in there and how in 15+ years it's deteriorated so much more. I think that gigantic building, building 93 was torn down. It was so beautiful.

I didn't realize people were buried there.
Wonder what they will eventually do with it.

Re: KP Psych Center
The Main Iconic building 93 is still there. They took down the power plant last year, but thats been it. There have been many interested developers but it hasnt worked out for two reason, 1) the town people fought overdevelopment. Part of it is now preserved a Nissequoge State Park. Secodnly, the building are INFESTED with Asbestos, and each of those building are connected by a maze of underground tunnels also full of asbestos. The state refuses to pay for the clean up of the asbestos, and developers who have been interested have refused ti shoulder the cost and feel the state should be responsible. So, thankfully, every developer has backed out. You cannot develop land and knocked down the buildings until the asbestos is cleaned out.

yup. There is an entire ground, in fact the field I mentioned that was used as short cut from the middle school to my neighborhood is in fact the burial ground.
