The first time I ever came over to DH's house he put on the Norah Jones CD and asked me to dance. We don't know what song it was so exactly... must have been one of the first few tracks so we picked "Come Away with MeChat Icon

we were scrambling and picked a song from a website that had nice words to it. It doesn't have any special meaning at all. I am not a song type of gal though.

We used "At Last". It was so fitting for us because I was 37 AND no one thought DH was ever going to "pop" the question.

It was definite when after looking at rings for the first time, we got in the car and it was playing.

our song while dating was Amazed by Lonestar, my aunt used that at her wedding so I wanted something else.

We are going to use "How Sweet It Is (to be loved by you)" by James Taylor. We both really like this song and know we will continue to hear it randomly on the radio for years to come.

It was Have a Little Faith (in Me) by John Hiatt....we had seen him in concert and he is one of DH idols, musically. The song represents the fact that DH had helped me find faith in God again and to have Faith in him because he would always be there for me

From This Moment just screams wedding song to me but when it first came out I said I wanted it to be our wedding song and he loved the idea.

My wedding song is very non-traditional and I love it! It's PM Dawn's, "I'd Die WIthout YOu." DH had it on a CD that he had burned that was always in his car and he'd always sing it to me while we were dating. He would also sing Sting songs to me. So, "I'd Die Without You" and "When We Danced" by Sting were pretty much no-brainers for us!Chat Icon

I picked it as my wedding song when I was in 9th grade and always used to listen to love songs at night on 99.9Chat Icon Before I ever met Ray.

"The Way you look tonight" we wanted a classic as our First Dance Song.

Our reasoning behind that was the September we got married my parents celebrated their 30th and my inlaws celebrated their 25th and we did a spotlight dance with them and us to my parents song (love me with all of your heart) because well they paid and my inlaws was some crazy 70's love song and dh and I hope some day to do the same at our child's wedding and wanted a classic that would stand time.

"It's your love" is awesome it was our dance after our cake cutting which was an even better dance for us and alot less pressure then the first so we really were relaxed and enjoying each other at that point of the night.

"Valentine" by Martina Mcbride if I knew of the song I would have picked also since Dh proposed on Valentine's Day....

Any time I hear any of these songs I get misty :)

We were online trying to find a wedding song since we didn't have any appropriate "our" songs. All "our" songs were to fast or had dirty words in them Chat Icon Well, I am really into the words inthe songs. EVERY word has to work. So we were looking and looking when all of a sudden, DH put on "amazed" by Lonestar and we both teared up. The words were so beautiful and exactly how we felt about each other/ It was almost as if a bright light came into the room. The second we heard it we knew that was going to be our wedding song. Even now when I hear it, I still get a little teary eyed Chat Icon

Our song was one DH used to play many many years ago (before we ever dated) for me at any parties at his house. It just sort of fit to use it for our wedding - Follow You, Follow Me by Genesis

"our song" was "I cant stop Lovin' You" by Van Halen
Our wedding song, however, was "After All" cuz the 2 of us were through a lot with exes and all that crap, so this song fit us perfect.Chat Icon

Re: Kinda wedding realted, but...how did you pick...

Our first dance was
"Let it grow" by Eric Clapton

"I'm standin' at the crossroads
tryin' to read the signs
to tell me which way I should
go to find the answer
and all the time I know
let your love and let it grow"

This is from a CD he made me get at Sam Goody when we firtst started dating ( I was working there) and I used to listen to it as I fell asleep at night & this was the last song... we both loved it!

Our second song was
"Sea of love" Honeydrippers

"Do you remember when we met
That's the day I knew you were my pet
I want to tell you how much I love you "

Funny thing.... JUST now found out it does not say "That's the day I knew you were mine"!!!
But that's what it sounds like!! Anyhow, I knew from the day we met, we would always be together, so the song made sense!! Plus, the Honeydrippers had Robert Plant (From Led Zeppelin) in it! And DH is a HUGE Led Zep fan!

Re: Kinda wedding realted, but...how did you pick...

I played it for DH a few months before the wedding and the week leading up to the wedding, we still hadn't decided, and we listened to it again together. He called me the next day and told me he called our DJ to tell him it is our wedding song.

The song is When You Say You Love Me by Josg Grobin- the words just really get to us- are very meaningful to us . . .
