Kidney Reflux
DD got diagnosed with bilateral kidney reflux. She has a level 1 on one side and between a level 3&4 on the other. All of this was because she had two UTI's within a month and half and spiked to 104.9 within hours.
She is on preventative antibiotics and will be for a year at which time another MRI with contrast will need to be done & HOPEFULLY there will be no signs of it.
If no changes occur regarding the levels then she will need surgery to correct the uretro tube flap.
Should she get a UTI during the course of the antibiotics in the next year, she will be switched to another antibiotic. If she does not respond to that one, we will need to talk about surgery sooner.
Has anyone's DD gone through this? I'm trying to figure out what the chances are that she outgrows this on her own and we can avoid surgery. I'm just a little worried because of high level on the one side.
