Keratin straightening

Ok so now what is Keratin straightening? Is it brazilian w/ keratin? Do you need to use a special shampoo? Where do you get it done?

Re: Keratin straightening

As per my hairdresser and what I have read online Keratin (a protein that’s found naturally in healthy skin, hair, and nails) doesn’t damage your hair the way traditional relaxers do — instead, it adds a conditioning layer to your hair and transforms frizzy hair into silky smooth, shiny strands. It lasts up to five months, depending on how often you wash your hair (gradually you wash away the Keratin).

My only question is if I have real curly hair - do i loose my curls until the keratin washes away?

yes, a special shampoo and conditioner. YOu don't have to ? but it helps to elongate the the straightening.

I was talking to a girl at the gym and she said she uses the shampoo and she is going on 7 months! it was pouring rain this morning- her hair was down on the treadmill...

my hair is JHS but I am switching- I will be going to her place! Her hair looked great and it was highlighted

I think it's worth it to use the shampoo and not have to go as often

Did you lose your curls?

I love my curly hair but it can get frizzy...and when I do rollers and blow out all I have to do is get hot and my hairs starts curling and frizzing up - which is one of the reasons I want to do the keratin.

you don't lose your curls with the brazilian keratin that would be the japanese, which I had done first..it took me over a year to rid of it..it sucked for me! I like to have body when I blow it out not fully straight and that's what does the keratin does for you. The girl comes to my house.

right now I don't have it (grew out) but will do it next month again...can't wait..lol when I had yes during the summer bc of pool but I tried to blow it out as much as possible.. it gives you nice lose curls (waves like) I think it all depends how curly your hair is and if you leave for 3 days it has less effect then if you leave it in for 4 days....those days are tough and annoying as your hair is flat and can't wash it!

Re: Keratin straightening

I found this great line of products to help our curly hair situation...lol
UNITE I swear by them. I use the lazer straight for blow outs, also their shampoo and conditioner. My hair dresser uses moroccan oil, lazer straight, and dry shampoo. Sometimes she uses ISO foam for blow outs it leaves my hair good for a few days...love it...I get my hair blown out every 4 days or depending on my activities that week.......lol I can't stand my curls right now, this is why I cannot wait to get to the brazilian done.

Re: Keratin straightening

honestly I don't know sine I don' go to a salon. It depends on the length of your hair as well. I'm thinking over $300?
