Just got this e mail from Dr B
This is Just a truly amazing Human Being.. And he just keeps getting better and better.. I wish him all the best in the world.. He truly deserves it.. I can honestly call this man a friend.. I know there are many of you that feel the same..
Just a quick line to let you know that as of 3/1 Im going to be moving out of AFS and working again with Dr. Batzofin(the former director at SIRM NY). We did great together at SIRM so Im looking forward to working with him again , he has a beatuiful center also in Manhattan and we've done a few cases there and all has been great patients love it. He has an East meets West deco I think patients will find it more soothing. It will be a bit more expensive 9250 for an entire cycle including all the extras like ICSI but we wont be taking as many insurances. (just in case you were thinking of referring anyone). Have you been on the website? Its really active on the boards there. www.reproductiveimmunology.com
ETA: This new insurance thing is only for people just starting new with him.. If you were already with him he still takes your insurance... The only difference will be the ER.. Done at the new location.. I would not worry at all.. This has no effect on the woodbury office.. He seems to be happy and said the patients will get even better care!!

Re: Just got this e mail from Dr B
very interesting. I wish him the best of luck.
I have not moved on to IVF yet, but it looks like we might be headed that way, so what concerns me is that he is not accepting as many insurances. My current insurance doesn't cover IVF anyhow, but DH is getting a new job, and if his benefits cover IVF, I will be getting secondary coverage. I would hate to find out that it's not accepted and have to change doctors. I guess we'll cross that bridge if we come to it.

Re: Just got this e mail from Dr B
man!!i wanted to do my IVF at SIRM with him and at the time he said he was waiting for paperwork to go through and we couldnt do it yet!! so i did mine with AFS. but i MUCH wouldve preferred SIRM. although my results were BFP so it worked out for me... i wonder if i can move my embryos to whomever he is with when we are ready to go for #2..

This is not SIRM. Dr. Batzofin was also with SIRM once upon a time and has his own clinic in midtown now. I actually started IF treatments with him 3 years ago so it's ironic that I could end up back there again. I loved Dr. Batzofin but I'm not too thrilled to hear about the change...

Re: Just got this e mail from Dr B
I was just saying this last night at the gtg!! I had my last ivf at dr batzofin and they were great! It's a palace compared to afs! I'm going again this week for et/et. I got the vibe from talkin to dr b that he would be switching to dr batzofin eventually but had no idea it would be so soon!! I'm excited that all his patients will now get to go there and get much much better treatment!!!

I dont understand what your saying? End up back where? Do you use Dr Braverman now? He is still there? He is still in woodbury.. do you mean use the NYC office that Batzofin is at? Did you have a bad experience with his office in NY?

i figured he wasnt going to SIRM, i just wished i could have done my IVF there.
most people hate AFS so im surprised to hear that someone would be unhappy about that change.
my experience at AFS was fine so it doesnt bother me either way - i just want to make sure my embies are wherever Dr. B will be.

What about monitoring hours? When I went to Dr. Batzofin before they didn't start till 9 and his office staff were so disorganized. My bills got so $crewed up. Like I said, I love Dr. Batzofin (I even considered going back to him before starting with Dr. B), but AFS is a better clinic IMO.

I'm doing IVF with Dr. Braverman but all my monitoring and procedures are in the city, so effectively it will be like going back to being a patient of Dr. Batzofin.
The facility is very nice but it's not run like any other IF clinic I have been to and they basically keep regular office hours. It may have changed in 2.5 years and I hope it has or it will be very inconvenient for me.

Can't say I'm surprised. I was "getting the feeling" something was up, more on the AFS side. Whatever is better for Dr. B. I trust his instincts and his smarts.
Any stats?

i dont see why this would effect the woodbury office at all. the only real purpose for AFS was the IVF lab. i did my monitoring there a lot too though so i am curious how it all works out although i wont have to deal with it again for a while.

It has no impact on the Woodbury location or insurance for non ivf people

As soon as I read this, I thought of our conversation last night! These GTGs are even more informative than I thought!
If I already paid for this IVF cycle, but I'm scheduled for the retrieval/transfer after March 1st... where will I be going for it?

I would assume since you are scheduled after 3/1 you will be going to batzofin.

I was emailing him about something and this was part of his response to me.. It may have been very premature , I told him that I put it out there and he said that people are going to find out very soon anyway.. I feel bad I did that now but I know i refer so many people to him and he wanted to let me know about this.. He didnty get mad .. I am sure if you call him or e mail him he will give youthe same info..
