Just complaining...

I have had a wonderful pregnancy, but things are going downlhill over the past week.
My hands are feet are so swollen. I can't close my hand or make a fist and I can barely walk. My hips and tailbone hurt so bad that it is keeping me awake all night.
I also have bad menstrual like cramps and (TMI) cannot stop going to the bathroom. Everything I eat goes right through me. I am sooo hot and feel nauseous. I don't know if this is pregnancy related or if I am getting sick.
I left work at 3 today and am doing some work from home now. I have been so busy @ work and I am sure this is the cause of my swelling and much of the discomfort - on my feet and overdoing it all day. I still have 3.5 weeks til my due date and I don't know how I am going to make it at work.

Thanks for letting me complain.

I'm no doctor, but it sounds to me like your body is getting ready for the baby. I would try and take it as easy as possible. I know it's better said than done. Chat Icon

Re: Just complaining...

I'm sure it's pregnancy related. Listen to your body, rest when you need to, drink water, put your feet up. Don't worry about the house or laundry. Just take it day by day. You will have better days and worse ones...just do what you can and that's all you can do. Before you know it your bean will be here! If you feel really ill, go to the doc.

Diarrhea, especially if you haven't had it through your pregnancy, can signal labor.

Hang in there. It's coming down to the wire now. And although this is my first time preggo, symptoms you are explaining sounds like the onset of the end!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Try to relax - do as little as possible and completely veg out. Pregnancy takes a toll on our bodies and rest is the best thing we can do for it.

Re: Just complaining...

Try to take it easy, is there anyway you can stop working earlier? or maybe leave a little earlier in the day so you can go home and rest? I would really talk to your Dr again about that swelling, I had it bad at the end of my pregnancy with Julia and my BP was up! I get so nervous over that. Chat Icon

Re: Just complaining...

I have an appointment with the midwives tomorrow. I really don't want to stop working early because I am worried about my department. Our manager is out and I am the "acting" manager right now. There is no one else to pick up the slack. We are already short staffed and although the people there are hard workers for the most part, they don't have much experience.
I will see how my appointment goes tomorrow.

Re: Just complaining...

Julie-
I feel you pain. My left hand and left foot are SO swollen (I know, wierd it's only on one side) and my tailbone feels like it could be detatching at any moment. The contractions get a little more uncomfortable every day. I am getting to that "feeling done" stage too.

Re: Just complaining...

Be very careful with swelling, extreme swelling can be a sign of a rise in BP, lots of water and feet up!!!!! Hang in thee, the last few weeks are VERY tryingChat Icon Chat Icon
