Just breaks my heart....
I dont know what else to say.. This is the only place I put this and you guys will 'get it'.
26yr old dies in single vehicle roll over
This woman was the mother to one of AJ's friends in school. She's constantly telling me about McKenzie. Since I'm a Beatles fan she hears 'Eleanor Rigby' and in the song is Father McKenzie and AJ constantly says OOOOOH like my friend!
This is the second death to rock this school in two years. Both mothers.
I went to pick up AJ last night and the afterschool teacher tells me because AJ and her still play in afterschool (she is 2yrs older than AJ).
So you know we had to sit over dinner and 'talk' again. What would you do if I died? My measily one time salary life insurance would pay off all debt outside the house payments. His income would have to pay for the house and utilities. If he were to die, his life insurance is large enough to pay all debt and the house off. Ugh. Of course its Enrollment time at work so I think I may bump up my life insurance to 2X my income.
Just so sad......
and can I just say as a 37yr old mama of a 4yr old.. I just want to say this here.. because you guys will get it...
OH MY GOD! SHE WAS SO YOUNG!!!!!! AND HER DAUGHTER!! JESUS!! WHY!
thanks for letting me get that out..

It is so sad. I'm sorry for your loss.
I would look into getting a term policy if you are looking to increase your life insurance - many times life insurance through work (group life) is more expensive because they have to cover everyone and there is no underwriting. This is what DH and I did if anything like this were to happen =(

That is horrible. I'm very sorry. It's one of those conversations you never want to have with your children.

Re: Just breaks my heart....
This kind of thing keeps me up at night. DS needs his mama. no money, no life insurance policy, no nothing could fix it. DH would do his best but mama goes above and beyond to push him to achieve all he is capable. I "get" him. Argh...

Re: Just breaks my heart....
This is my greatest fear and it literally keeps me awake some nights...DH is a great dad but he would not be able to give the kids the things I give them and it terrifies me
I am sending many prayers for your daughters friend and family as they are surely heartbroken at this time and their lives have changed forever

Just breaks my heart....
I just can't shake it. She was coming home from work. Driving on a parallel street to mine.
I work two jobs and come home late at night. Was she avoiding a deer? Did she have time to realize she was going to leave her child? OMG I just put myself in her shoes and its so scary.
It gets dark so early and the deer are definitely out and about and MY road isn't nearly as wide as hers. Mine is under construction with no street lights at all through the 10mi strip and the road has been pulled up and put down so many times that the little 'flag' type road things are all we have. So many times I have to flash, honk or just slow down and wait as another car comes into MY lane in the opposite direction because they didn't see the lane moved over.
So this is just messing me up today.

Re: Just breaks my heart....
I totally "get" it. I think about this a lot. There is NOTHING more heartbreaking than a mother dying and leaving young kids behind. That is the most terrifying thought that periodically pops up in my head and that is why ever since becoming a mother I value my life 100x more: I know that I am their world and they would be forever lost without me.
That poor, poor little motherless girl.
Did she have time to realize she was going to leave her child? That killed me a little bit inside!

Re: Just breaks my heart....
Heartbreaking My biggest fear is my children losing me. I'm their biggest fan, their biggest advocate, their best caretaker, and the funnest person in their life. It makes me sad to think how their lives would be if I wasn't in it
