Just a little sad about having to be a f/t working mom

My daughters will be 3 and 2 in the next few months. It is still so hard to leave them every morning. My older still cries hysterically most days--4/5 days per week i would say. she wont let me go, has to be held back and restrained, and i leave seeing her begging me not to go every day. my younger one isn't as bad, but still doesn't like it.

i think my older one is so attached to me, and i am to both of them. the older one also cries every.single.night. at bed time. this has been since she was about 6 months old. she just doesnt want me to go--whether it's to work, or to say goodnight. it's breaking me down. i feel terrible.

DD is 16.5 months and thankfully we have only had a few mornings like that but the thought of it tears my heart apart. Usually when her nanny comes she is all smiles and continues playing (and her nanny is only there Mon-Wed so she's had 4 days of mommy/daddy time), but there have been a few mornings where she sees me getting ready to leave and goes into hysterics and hugs my leg at the door. Those mornings...I cry on my walk to the subway. I tell myself daily that I work (part time, but it's still Mon-Thurs) FOR her and for us to have a comfortable life, but still, UGH.

I'm sorry! Chat Icon Chat Icon

he'll be two on Thursday and I cry more often on the way to the train than I care to think about. and he's generally ok with it. I am so sorry that it's so hard on all of you. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
