jones beach tomorrow
anyone been there on the 4th? any suggestions, like what time ot go, what to bring, etc?

go early & bring lots of ice & water.
The lot get crammed quite early & people stay all day until the show. Have plenty of sunscreen food & water.

Wantagh Park- DH and I went in 03 to see the Jones Beach Fireworks. It was less crowded, the view was great and it took all of ten minutes to get out of the park when it was over. Highly recommended.

If you plan on Jones Beach, plan on staying a looooonnnggg time after the fireworks are done. I went a couple years ago, and it took over an hour just to get out of the parking lot. Then, of coure, the parkways were barely moving because everyone was trying to get out at the same time. But it was a great show and a lot of fun to see.

go very early so you get a good stop. When the fireworks are over, be prepared to wait a while to get out. We went to 2 years ago and sat in the car for quite a while since it was so crazy getting out of there.

Yeah either park RIGHT by the exit and leave immediately or just stay on the beach and wait it out for at least an hour or so. It's usually a nightmare trying to leave when everyone else does.

Go early and make sure you have enough gas in the car. Depending on where you are when you leave, it may take a while to get moving. It's worth it though....lots of fun.
