Joining the board
Hi girls! I had my first round of bloodwork done today at 4 weeks, 3 days. I just got the call that the HCG was 430 and progesterone was 17.6. I'm so happy that the numbers are where they should be. I had an early mc back in January so I'm a nervous wreck still, but going to join the board!
I have another script to have my blood taken again. Would you go again on Wednesday or do you think I should wait until next week?
Also, I scheduled my first sono. My dr was off the week I wanted to go so I'm going when I'll be 6 weeks, 6 days. Do you think I should just go the week after when I'm into my 7th week even though I'll have to see the other dr.? Not sure what to do, but I want to make sure that we don't go too early. Thinking of rescheduling, but I know there's no way I'll be able to wait until the week he gets back!

First of all, congrats! If I were you I would go for the beta on Wednesday. Generally beta's are run 2 days apart so waiting a week would be unnecessary. As far as the doctors appointment goes, I would probably just keep the appointment you have scheduled!

i had my first sono at 6w2d. to give you an idea... look at the pic in my album. i saw the HB (but didn't get to hear it). if you're sure about your dates, i'd keep the appointment. if you think you could be off... maybe consider waiting another week for peace of mind (unless you can deal with knowing you may not see the hb, etc.). this is jmo from my experience.

Def go for the beta on Wed. And I would keep the appt for the sono. I went at just past 6w and we were able to see the heartbeat.

for a true reading you'll want to go for beta around 2 days after the first beta if possible. if you cant do that then at least go as soon as possible to make sure the numbers are doubling appropriately.
def go for the sono at 6w6d. you should def see a heartbeat by then. good luck!

So i take it you're seeing the RE? then yes i would go at 7 weeks and then you'll be released after 8 weeks to your regular OB.

Not seeing an RE, just my regular OB. So I guess I'd have to wait for 12 weeks for the next one.

congrats i posted march mommies, but i think you should leave your sono as is. i think you'll feel better, meeting with the doctor you're confortable with. i had a sono, where by dates i was 7 weeks, 1 day, but by measurements i was really only 6.1 (which coiincides with my longer cycles/later O'ing) and i was able to see the heartbeat, so hopefully you will too.
bloodwork... can you repeat it on thursday or friday? i had my 1st done on a monday, then they had me repeat it on friday. if not, i'd say wait til next monday to repeat it.

I was actually thinking of going on Thursday morning also. I know that within 48-72 hours the numbers double so maybe Thursday will be good.

Since you had a m/c previously, I agree with the other gals - go 2 or 3 days after your first beta. It will give you peace of mind.
