I like that answer
After doing it twice, I am growing mine out b/c I feel that my very fine hair has become too processed and damaged. However, I still know plenty of people doing it. I think it's just a matter of preference. I also have friends trying other things such as brazilian straightening.

Re: JHS-In or Out?
couldn't live with out it
I get the roots down every 6 months
leave the house with wet hair every morning - I get up 30 minutes before I need to walk out the door- instead of 60 plus minutes
life is good!
I never wore my hair curly, I don't color it- so it's perfect for me!

Thanks. There was a girl from Queens on another site that said it was totally out.

Re: JHS-In or Out?
I don't really see how it could be an in or out thing
if you didn't know me- you would never even know I got it done
my hair is just straight
as a new person living in Queens- there are alot of fashion choices I see that I would personally consider OUT
but having nice, neat straight hair is not one of them

does she have curly hair?
I don't get it done, and probably never would, but i dont see how that's an in or out kind of thing? I can understand not getting Brazilian done because it may have formaldahide in it.... but straight vs. curly is personal preference, not a "trend" of any kind

She said she had it done 4 years ago and not it is not the thing to do, the brazilian and something else is. I see it still advertised so think people are still doing it-??!!

it's a hair treatment- who cares if it's the thing to do
she isn't the one blowing out my hair every morning!

Maybe she just means that more people are using the Brazilian process since it's less damaging to hair.

Was she trying to deter you from getting it done? (I'm just still trying to figure out the point of this thread)

That doesn't make a lot of sense. She is saying that a straight look is in but a particular process for getting it is out.

Re: JHS-In or Out?
Honestly, if you want straight hair, go ahead and do it. If you want curly hair or would rather blow/iron your hair every day, don't do it. Does it really matter what some random girl said?

I think she was trying to be helpful and say these are the "new" treatments that are out...
I think some are reading into what she said too much.
Dont get defensive

Re: JHS-In or Out?
I don't see how something like that can be "in or out". It's not like a style of clothing.
That's like saying- is having blonde hair in or out? Or I may want to dye my hair brown but I heard brunettes are out this year...

No, she was basically trying to "get me" that I was wrong.

Re: JHS-In or Out?
it sounds to me that by asking if it's "in or out" she's asking if it's still as popular as it once was.... Personally, i think newer things have come out, so people are giving them a try... but if they want STRAIGHT no fuss hair, they'll end up going back to JHS
Get what you want.. with brazilian you still need to blow out your hair, so to me it doesn't compare to JHS. It also did a number on my friends hair, and didn't last longer than a month before it washed right out...

Re: JHS-In or Out?
The girl on the other website wanted to feel superior for the way she does it. It is sad that women do this.
