Jetblue no longer giving credit for airfare price decrease
I may be the last one to know, but I figured i'd post it anyway.
Jetblue used to give a credit if your price dropped. We usually buy tickets very far in advance, knowing that if the price drops we get the credit. So we did that and our price dropped and were told that the policy changed and they only will give the credit if its within 14 days of booking; otherwise its a change fee of $70 to get the credit (you are basically getting charged for cancelling and rebooking at the lower fee)! Our price drop was $65 per person so it didn't pay.
Needless to say we were upset. This policy change was effective last August.

I didn't know, so you weren't the last!
It doesn't surprise me though. Like a PP said, they charge for bags now, plus I personally find them to not be as cheap as they used to be, even compared to other airlines. The last time we went to Florida we flew Delta and that was one of several choices cheaper than Jetblue.
They aren't what they used to be.

yeah, definitely not the same airline. And we're out a lot of money and we're mad. lesson learned: shop around for prices (we used to be strictly jetblue fliers) and don't book in advance.

I fly quite often and I can't tell you the last time I flew with JetBlue. I always find cheaper airfare with other airlines. I even have a ton of points with them and can't bring myself to use them. It's def not a budget airline anymore.

JetBlue is def not a budget airline... But I've never had a bad experience with them... In fact, when I had to totally switch my itinerary, the penalty was much less than trip insurance (which frankly doesn't cover anything). I'm sad about the bags though! That will only cause chaos on boarding! I stopped flying any other airline due to their awesome customer service & a very bad fight w AA. I hope they don't change too much!

Jetblue no longer giving credit for airfare price decrease
Wow. Didn't know this. I love Jetblue but they're making it difficult to stay loyal.

Re: Jetblue no longer giving credit for airfare price decrease
yes agree with everyone, the boarding process will be a nightmare now that no one wants to check a bag. it was already harrowing with everyone who gets on first with their oversized carry ons taking up the overheads, and if you board last you may have to have your bag checked because there's no more room. So what happens then? I hope they can't charge you!!
Yes, loyalty is going to be difficult if the prices are better elsewhere. We still love Jetblue, love the tv, the planes etc. And we are so used to Jetblue that when we infrequently travel on another airline its like ewwwwwwwww this is gross LOLLLL. But we will see how this pans out as far as our future travel.

I just found this out after recently booking and flying with them. I only missed by a day too the baggage fee. They started it the day I booked.

They are just another airline now. Not what they used to be at all.

Re: Jetblue no longer giving credit for airfare price decrease
In terms of paying for checked bags, yes it sucks, but if I have to pay, I pay. I am NOT shoving my whole life into a carry on to save $25. I have been on flights where people almost got into fist fights with flight attendants over having to check their bag. It was insane. Not to mention the liquid limits- my hair products and make up alone make it nearly impossible to do carry on. I just don't get it. Don't drink Starbucks for a few days and save up the $25 to check your bag and have a civilized flight.
