Re: IVF- where to start?

I go to LI IVF and have been happy there so far.
I haven't had much progress, but that's my body's fault Chat Icon
They have three offices - Lake Success, Melville, and Port Jefferson.

You mean Port Jefferson, right? Not Port Washington.

If I end up here I'd be going to the port jeff branch as that's the closest to my house. Chat Icon

I usually go to the Lake Success office, unless it's a Saturday and they send me to Melville. I've been very happy at Lake Success - in and out very quickly. I see Dr. Brenner, even though the nurses and PAs do most of the monitoring and I rarely see the DR. However, I have an appointment tomorrow with Dr. Brenner to discuss my lack of progress Chat Icon Hopefully he'll have some answers for me. He's very thorough, soft spoken, and gets straight to the point. I like him very much.

I go to LI IVF. The Pt. Jefferson office is probably closest to you but keep in mind that any weekend monitoring (blood/sono) and the actual IVF retrieval and transfer are done in Melville. HTH and best of luck in your decision. Both Dr. Brenner and Dr. Kenisberg have excellent reputations.

Re: IVF- where to start?

I go to LI-IVF, the Lake Success office with Dr. K. Just remember even though you may do monitoring in Port Jeff, IVF is done in the new office at Melville, not sure if that's too much of a drive for you.

As for picking a dr/clinic, it's really important to check the stats also and for me most important was a dr and office I was comfortable with and had the best game plan for me.

Good luck!

Re: IVF- where to start?

Personally, I would make an appointment for a consult at all three and see which Dr. you get along with best or will be best able to meet your needs.
As Donna said, I would also check the stats of each clinic - especially in regards to your situation which is PCOS. And I would ask the Dr. how he/she would deal with your issue.

ETA: Anyone who responds is honestly just going to tell you who they liked or got PG with....I went to RSNY for a year and although I hated them, people who have gotten PG with them are extremely happy. That's why I recommend you interviewing the Drs. first....

ITA with this!! You click with some people and not with others. My prior RE, as you know is the sweetest man on the planet but I did not feel like the stats were strong enough to risk an IVF with him. I now see Dr K and some people like him and some don't. I personally really clicked with him but he does not have the kind, bedside manner my old RE did but if he gets me pg, all is good. Chat Icon

Dr kenigsberg for me too...but I agree with Gerty in that you need to pick who YOU feel comfortable with.

I totally agree. I had a great experience at RSNY, but not everyone likes them so I think it really depends on your specific case. Definately interview all three if you want to so you know who you feel comfortable with and who has the best game plan for you.Chat Icon
