IVF Grant
This is an FYI for those who have read about me posting for the IVF grant. If you are thinking about doing this, please contact your re asap about it. I was just informed this morning that i have to do it next cycle. My re only recieved 20% of the grant money for it this year as compared to last year and it is on a first come serve.

Thanks for this post.
Dr. Braverman is NOT on the list so would this mean i have to start again from scratch with a new re? RMA or East Coast? Should i just call one and set up an apt or do i need to get approved for the grant before?
Which re do you see? Would you recommend?

I see Dr. Kenigsberg of LI-IVF in Lake Success but he also has offices in Melville and Stonybrook. He is great. One person i know got pg with him on her first try. My first try i had Brenner do the er.. I dont recommend him.
Kenigsberg also wrote a book and when i talked to him after my first ivf cycle was a bust, he listed to what i had to say and is making adjustments this time.
I'm sorry to hear that Dr. B wasn't part of the group. I know so many people like him.

I asked at NSUH and they said that it ended March 30th and that there wouldnt be another one available again. So much for that.

Fergie... i am telling you that it is open again.. very limited money though...
I had my last ivf in March.. i got the BFN on March 29th. I met with my re who told me to reapply on April 6th that there would be a new grant.
I was told last week that i was accepted...
Ask again. This time tell them you know someone who was approved under the grant...

NSUH may not have gotten anymore of the grant money, that may be why they are saying it's done. Besides, if you have ins. coverage you wouldn't be eligible for the grant, anyway. You either have to have no ins IVF coverage or have exhausted your ins IF/IVF coverage to be eligible.
