IVF Cycle #1 Starting Now Update 8/29
So, I am getting the rest of my big box of meds today. (Some of it was already delivered) and I start BCP tonight. I get the impression my transfer/retrieval won't happen until the end of Aug-beginning of September.
I was never on BCP, so I'm at a loss. The Dr has me starting it today (CD2) and I think I'll be on it a week or two... will I get another period when I stop the BCP and then start stimming?
I will ask the Dr, but I'm always in a rush to get to work after monitoring so I never think to ask until after the office is closed 
Update 7/25: OK, so the office called: I'm on BCP until 8/19. Then Estrace until 8/22. Then I start injections/stimming 8/23.
Update 8/19: Started my Estrace 2MG a day once a day. Go back on 8/23 for calendar. ER and ET tentatively scheduled first week in September.
Update 8/23-8/26: Since 8/23 I'm on 225 of menopour and 225 of follostim. Went back for sono on 8/23 and 8/26. Several small follicles on the left and the right. Dr. seems pleased, but to me this seems slow. I feel like I'm not going to get enough follicles of good quality for ER and ET. I go back in on Thursday, 8/29.
Update 8/29: Went in for monitoring. 4 measurable follicles at 10-11 two on each side, and 3 or 4 smaller follicles on each side. I started Garalinex today, to suppress ovulation. Go back on Saturday... We're getting there.

RE bleeding. I bled for two days when I stopped BCP. It was heavier blood than a normal period for me, but shorter in duration, the nurse told me to expect bleeding, but also said not everyone does.

IVF Cycle #1 Starting Now
YAY glad you are getting started! AF will be coming around August 12th and then I'm starting IVF so I should be cycling a little behind you 2 ladies. Maybe I won't have to take Birth Control pills since AF comes mid August and he is doing retrivals/transfers beginning of September.
What meds are you going to be on?
I have my IVF consult with Dr. Z tomorrow and I have no idea what this all entails.

Usually you're on BCPs for about 3 weeks. Then when you stop, you will bleed. It's actually a withdrawal bleed (withdrawal from the hormones) rather than an actual period. You'll start stimming around CD3 then.

Thank you all!
The rest of my meds just got here... y'all... I started to have a panic attack.
Now to add to the mix I have: estrace, doxycyline, methasomething or other (it's a pill) two different size needles, alcohol pads, and my very own sharps container.
I just hope they're all: Now do this... then that, now this. I can't possibly remember all this.
But if it brings me my take home baby, I'll learn it right quick.

You will learn very quickly. The arrival of the meds is the most overwhelming part - once you have your instructions it'll become second nature. So...try not to stress (I know....). Most people I know have had the withdrawal bleed after BCP. That's when you'll start your protocol. GL!!

Dont worry Joanne... make sure you get a clear list from the Dr about what order you should take everything and doses and all that... GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!
ETA: I did not bleed at all after BCP were done... Dr said it was fine as long as i wasnt having any breakthrough ovulation...

I felt the same way when I got my box-o-meds 
You can do it and you're gonna be great at it!!
YAY for starting!!! I was on BCP for a week and a half. Dr said some women spot after, some get a full period, and some get nothing. Either way he said it doesn't matter. I started spotting today and I had my last pill on Sunday.

I actually have a notebook to keep track of all appts meds etc. small enough to fit in my pocketbook. I can't possible remember all of this info. When I first got my cache of meds I almost passed out. It fits in an entire drawer. It becomes part of your routine though so don't worry. I give myself the shots and its second nature to me now. Good luck and don't worry.
