IVF and DH funny...
So at my last bloodwork, the dr. gave me the IVF folder to read over before my consult. I can't tell you how many times I have told DH that the IVF is only done at Mineola with RSofNY. (we live out east, way passed Stonybrook).
So he's reading the IVF info about what to do onthe day of retrieval and gets to the part where he has to "produce" the sample while they are doing the retrieval. Looks at me and says " So wait, I have to DO IT in the office??????"  I was hysterical. I told him I felt confident there was a boys room with visual aids. He was not too happy about it, but I said "well, you get to go to the boys room and I get to have heavy sedation and a medical procedure...I thnk you get the better part.
Don't get me wrong, he wasn't upset or anything, but the realization finally hit him, he never put 1+1 together when I kept saying Mineola.

I remember my DH looking puzzled when they asked do you want to use our privacy room or produce at home.....he was like huh privacy room.
I was laughing at his reaction and responded for him.

My DH had to use the Mineola "boys room" and yes, there were visual aids if necessary  ...We always joked that we would play a trick on them and have him walk out with an overflowing cup of
something suspicious looking , just to see the nurses reaction

My DH also asked where to provide the sample...
I think he's embarrased about using the "naughty room" as we've been calling it!
He said, "but then everyone KNOWS what I'm doing in there..."

When my DH had to do his SA he produced at home and I ran it over to LI IVF. On retreival day, God willing, I am hoping he won't get nervous and embarassed. When we were TTC on our own and I got my egg on the CBEFM he would sometimes not be able to , "finish", out of stress and pressure. So this scares me!

Aww. Thats kinda cute!
I used to thank G-d that we lived so darn close to NSUH (about 3 miles). There was no way I'd be happy if he had to park his bottom on those couches!

I guess my DH is the odd one here. He actually prefer to get it done in RE’s office. He said he does not want the pressure of having to run to the RE’s office after collecting.

Yeah... that drive def won't be within the 1 hour limit you get...
Maybe he will like it!!! I hope he doesn't like it too much!

The night before my 5 IUIs, I didn't sleep well, knowing that on any given day traffic on LI can $uck and a 30 minute trip can take you over an hour.
We're headed toward IVF (cycle after this one). I'm not going to tell DH about his probably needing to "produce" there until I have to.

OMG, that's so funny. DH dreaded it until he saw the selection at the office.
My doctor's office now has two channels of porn running all day long. Oh, he's fine with it now

When my MIL wanted to be there with me for the retrieval I explained to her what would be going on.... that her son would have to produce "a sample" while I was sedated and she.... AND DH almost died right there in her kitchen. Needless to say, she didn't ask me of she could be there again!

Lke you, we also live way out east. However we live more then an hour from Stony Brook so poor DH had to produce there everytime we had an IUI so by the time we had to have the IVF he was an old pro of producing in public He really never complained about it, the only time was when we had to be in Stony Brook at like 7am which meant getting up VERY early! We are MFI so that day happened to be his worst sample ever- he blamed it on getting up too early
