IUI #3
I saw my RE this morning. He is so compassionate! He said there should of been no reason why I shouldn't have gotten pregnant. I had a good egg, a good tube, and I ovulated. He believes I am ovualting from my right and that's why I am not pregnant. ( I have my right tube blocked) We are continuing this cycle on the Follistim with the trigger. This is the last IUI cycle as we are moving on to IVF. Hoping this cycle will be my month. I don't want anything for Christmas but a baby. Wishing for a Christmas miracle!

Re: IUI #3
I'm sorry, but this confuses me. You did 2 IUI cycles, each of which had around a 25% chance of working per cycle (best case scenario..) and had one follicle for each of those cycles. I'm confused why your RE is so convinced this should have worked by now. I'm no doctor, but I think there's more you can do before moving on to IVF. Like I said in one of your other posts, I would absolutely inquire about triggering with more than one follicle, ESPECIALLY if one of your tubes is blocked.
Of course do what you are comfortable with, but I would want more answers before jumping into IVF. It just seems rather soon for that ... in my opinion.

What is your DX? And wasn't your DH SA 9 million for this past IUI? Although you can get pregnant with 9 million count, that is low, and right there could be a reason why it didn't work.

Before that I did 7 rounds of Clomid with IUI's that did not work. When I went to see my RE for a consult he wanted to try 3 IUI's with injectables before moving to IVF. As the new insurance is coming in Jan they only give me 6 IUI's for Life and 3 IVF's for Life so I am trying to be careful how I use them. I do not want to use up all my IUI's and then there is nothing left but IVF. I want to go through the IVF round. Who knows maybe I'll be suprised!

You do what you are comfortable with! We go to the same doctor and to some degree you have to put your faith in them and trust them. I am on my 9th iui and some say that is crazy but you know what I am doing things the way I want. You move o to ivf when you want to. Good luck.

ITA. An IUI with only 1 follie isn't really upping your odds all that much. And I'm not sure what the point of stimming is if you're only getting 1 egg. I'd hope he ups you to produce 2 or even 3 eggs next cycle. IVF is a huge jump. Even if you're only covered for a few IUIs lifetime, IUIs are relatively cheap OOP if you have to go that way down the road. And who knows in a few years what insurance company you'll be with anyway.
I just know that having been through both IUIs and IVF, I wouldn't do IVF until I was sure an IUI would not work for me. And from what you say, your RE is telling you there's no reason why an IUI shouldn't work for you.
And btw, I wouldn't count the first clomid cycles if you weren't being monitored and triggering.

Re: IUI #3
I appeicate everyone's opinions and advice. I have thought this through from the very beginning and we are going the IVF route. Thank you for all you advice and concern. I just don't have it in me to keep doing IUI's. ANd my life at the moment has been turned upside down.
