IUI #1 DONE!!!
I had my first IUI done this morning. DH count was 12.5 Million and the motility was at 73% I had 3 good size follicles. RE said good chance of twins if I become pregnant this cycle..in't that intersting?? Hmmmmmm Going in tomorrow for my 2nd IUI at 8AM. Hoping something sticks this cycle!!!

IUI #1 DONE!!!
theres always a chance of multiples when you have multiple mature follies. each follie represents an egg that can make a baby. so if you have 3 follies that are mature, you have a chance of triplets (technically each egg can also split but the chances are much lower and much more random unless identicals run in your family). honestly your RE saying your chances of twins are "good" is somewhat misleading; based on your issues the chance of ANY pregnancy resulting from a medicated IUI is somewhere in the vicinity of 33%. your chances of twins are less than that.
your RE really should have explained this to you so you know what risks you are taking. good luck!

I just wanted to add that though each follicles theoretically represents an egg, not all follicles contain eggs. Look at IVF for example. People never come out with the same number of eggs as follicles. Also, in a best case scenario, about half are genetically normal (which means the other half is not).
We aren't trying to come across negative here but just that you should have your facts straight and go into this as well informed as possible. I'm honestly a little surprised by what your RE told you but regardless, GOOD LUCK!!!! Triggering with multiple mature follicles is how many on here have gotten pregnant so hopefully you will be one of them.

well said pennycat. I agree you should be well informed. i remember my sith iui i triggered with six follicles. i got the selective reduction talk before they even would proceed with an iui. 15m sperm and still did not get pregnant. that broke my heart. so i agree knowing both sided of the coin is the key.
All in all 3 increases your chances of a pregnancy which is a good thing.we are all here to cheer you on and i hope this is your christmas gift. good luck

ITA. I had 3 mature follies and am pregnant with a singleton. Just because you have multiple follies doesn't ensure a multiple pregnancy.
