it's official
I finally get to join you ladies for real! 
Luca is such a good baby (knock on wood.) He's not much of a crier, but he does get really fussy during diaper changes. I'm sure things will change weekly, but these first few days have been really enjoyable and not as rough as I thought they would be.
I was on the fence with the whole breast feeding thing, but he latched so easily it seemed silly not to stick with it. I thought that it would be much more painful, but so far it hasn't been too bad. The only thing that stinks is that I feel a little like a slave. He tends to feed every 2-4 hours during the day, but every 2 hours at night. The only way I can get that extra hour out of him at night is to have him in the bed with us instead of his bassinet. Needless to say, I don't want to get him, or us, in the habit of having him in bed.
DH has been better with the baby than I ever expected. He took so naturally to being a dad and tries to help with everything. My DH wasn't sure how he'd be with poopy diapers, but he jumped right in there. He's still learning to cover the pee-pee during changes, as he and Luca both got a little wet yesterday.  But he really has been outstanding. And he's been good at telling me what a great job he thinks I'm doing, which is really nice to hear- especially from someone who tends to not be so free with the compliments. He feels bad that I'm the only one who has to get up at night, so I'll be buying the Pump in Style so that DH can help with feedings.
So that's our little update! I'm glad to join you ladies on the Parenting Board!
