Ist birthday need food ideas
DD's first birthday is in 3 weeks and I am going to have about 25 ppl over with a couple of kids to celebrate. It is a lunch, starts at 12:30. Money is tight this month. I was going to do wraps and heros but I though that was common. Does anyone have any suggestions, I prefer not to cook bc it is going to be a hectic week at work.

I don't think there's anythign wrong with what you originally planned. We are doing a hero and my mom is making a big italian pasta salad with veggies. We're having about 15 adults and 5 kids.

Re: Ist birthday need food ideas
We went to a local restaurant (Middle Eastern) and had plates of kebob, hummus, salad, rice made for us. We told them how much we wanted to spend...
It was quite inexpensive & interesting.
They delivered it HOT.

I recently had a fiesta for DH bday and it was inexpensive, different and delicious! We had chips and dips, empanadas, mini burritos, steak and chicken and all the toppings or tacos, quesadillas, rice and beans. It was a huge hit!

I know you don't want to cook, but some easy cheap things are: crock pot french dips, sloppy joes, and cheesy potatoes. All can be made in a crock pot and are super easy.
French dips- we use french bread and swiss cheese. To make- buy a roast or whatever is on sale. 5lbs would be good. Add to crock pot. Put in 1/2C soy sauce, pepper, 2 beef boulion cubes, and cover the roast with water. Let cook and it gets all soft for shredding and the broth is the au ju Cheesy Potatoes- Take frozen cubed potatoes add to crock pot with 1C sour cream, 1 bag cheese of choice, 3T butter, and 1 can cream of whatever you want. Cook all day Sloppy Joes- Brown meat and add sauce to crock pot. You're basically warming it up. Chips, veggies, breads/buns and you're done.

I was going to suggest something similar. Quesadillas, dips, chips and salsa. I make fajitas in the crock pot all the time and it's so easy if you start it early.
You could also do finger foods like pigs in a blanket, sliders, quesadillas, a couple salads, maybe shots of soup and little grilled cheese sandwhiches. A baked potato bar... I may sound silly but really simple food can become party food if you serve it the right way.
