Is your family affectionate?
Everytime we see my family (they live an hour away, we see them a few times a month), we kiss (on the cheek) and say hello. My mom always kisses me and my DH ...and if we see my extended family, same thing.....(handshakes for the men, lol).
In my DH's family it is the total opposite. We just say hi and that's about it, lol. And we see them even less. So it took my DH a while to get used to my family and I think he still feels weird sometimes, lol.
What is your family like?

Same as yours- we kiss when saying hello and good bye.
I don't really do that with my DH's family though.

My family is the exact same way, all kissy huggy. DH's family is the opposite, but I force kisses upon them anyway because thats just me. They have gotten used to me and actually started getting a bit more affectionate. DH is slowly but surely getting into the groove!!

My family is not affectionate at all
My DH family always has to give kiss/hug hello and goodbye
I think it's annoying, especially if it is a party with TONS of people there

Neither my DH's family nor mine are very affectionate.
We are not affectionate with others, either. With each other we are very affectionate, though.

Semi-affectionate. I think I am the most affectionate in my family...but I've learned to step back and read people before going up and hugging and/or kissing them.
For instance, my one SIL hugs hello, doesn't kiss hello...so I just hug her hello. I feel like if I were to continue kissing her hello she'd be uncomfortable.

not really really affectionate..we always kiss hello and goodbye..say I love you on the phone..but I will say I have always tried to be very huggy kissy towards my neices and nephews..my BF grew up in a very unaffectionate atmosphere so he is always very affectionate

My whole family is very huggy/kissy. My MIL always gives me a hug and a kiss when she sees me. Sometimes, FIL and his wife give me a hug and kiss when we say hello or good-bye.

DH's family is mixed- his dad's side is more affectionate that his mom's.

My Family very huggy kissy - even extended family - Aunts uncles cousins - second cousins (we all are very close)
DH family not so much- they are getting there - His Grandmother stiffens up like a board when you go into hug her!  But she is getting use to us - ya figure after 16 years!!

Very....You were never allowed to hang up the phone or go to bed without saying "I Love you" and everytime you enter or exit their prescence you must hug hello and give a kiss on the cheek!
