Re: Is this worth it? *UPDATED*
I'm sure you could do something strategic with window treatments but a bigger concern is egress. If the windows in the bedrooms would not allow you to get out if there were a fire I would be very concerned. It does sound like a VERY fair price for everything offered though.

I think that's a good price, depending on the area. Is it a good/safe town and area? Is the neighborhood safe? Do you have a parking spot in the driveway, or the street?

sounds like she views you as an ideal tenant, I'm not sure what you mean about the windows though?
The apartment is technically in the basement. So, the windows are big, but they open up to the window wells from above the house. So, basically when you look out the window, you have to look up to see trees. It's concrete when you look directly outside. Could I decorate the windows nicely and maybe just allow the light in? Like a sheer or something?
would you be able to get out in case of a fire?
that would be my main concern
my apartment is the ground floor of a high ranch- so I could escape from any window

What town are you in? That may make a difference.
DH and I paid $1500 for a 2 bedroom with no yard. Sounds like a great deal!

As some others posted, it's a great price including utilities. I'd make sure about safety issues as Beth posted. Best of luck to you. And to new beginnings.

I think you should just do it! I know it's scary, but just jump in with two feet. And remember, it's not forever. It's for now. It's a stepping stone. This may be the perfect place for you to start building your new life.

Re: Is this worth it? *UPDATED*
Sound very reasonable. I used to pay $1300 all included for a one bedroom in merrick. It can be difficult to find an apt that excepts pets

would you be able to get out in case of a fire?
Yes, She has ladders in the wells and the windows open up and allow for an adult-sized person to get out. The apartment is legal and is all to code.
ETA: Safe neighborhood located in Medford. We almost bought a house over there when we got married, but we were out-bid.

Re: Is this worth it? *UPDATED*
I would definitely take it! Especially if the windows are big enough to get out of, you can take you dog and have yard access.
It's a great deal!
