is this normal with PIO??
the next day after the shot i tend to be a bit sore and tender. but last night i guess DH went a little closer to the spine than usual, and today my tailbone is ABSOLUTELY killing me. usually the soreness fades by midday. but today its just been terrible all day. it feels like i have a big lump on my tailbone. DH didn't do the shot THAT close to it though WTH??

Are you putting a heating pad on the area right after the shot? The one time I didn't do this I got a huge lump and it hurt so bad the next day. Every other time I was fine.

i did the heating pad once and i didnt feel like it did anything so i stopped using it. i guess i should try it again. im just wondering why the pain isnt even where the last injection was, but rather right on my tailbone

That does seem a little odd. Is the pain possibly unrelated to the PIO shot? Maybe you hurt yourself and dont remember?

Re: is this normal with PIO??
for the needle to hit your tailbone is pretty impossible unless the location that you are injecting is off or he hit a nerve that is close in promixity to your tailbone. You should call your doctor or IVF nurse to let them know. It would even help if you can have your nurse draw a circle on each butt so you know exactly where to inject. Make sure the needle goes in at a 90 degrees angle.
Hope you feel better!

Re: is this normal with PIO??
Oh the dreaded PIO shot I had all sorts of crazy pains with them. Im convinced DH occasionally hit my sciatic nerve. My entire leg would be in pain. all the way down to my knee. It was excruciatingly painful to stand up & sit down those days. That would take 2 or 3 days to get better. Those needles are pretty long so you really never know what you might hit in there. Good news is that it does heal & its like it never happened.....
Lots of Luck!

Re: is this normal with PIO??
im pretty sure he didnt actually go anywhere near my tailbone... maybe the meds just floated over there and hardened or something?? anyway the more i do it the more pains i seem to be getting from it.. i hope its all worth it
