Is this normal?

I am only 4 weeks and 6 days. I am feeling sooo sick. Every single smell makes me nausious. I saw that a lot of you said that you didn't feel morning sickness until 8 weeks or so. Is it normal for me to have it so quickly. I got sick 3 days in a row already.

Also, on the bus this morning, I got soooo hot and sweaty. I was ripping off my scarf and jacket and I was getting sooo clamey. I looked around and nobody else seemed to be in the least bit warm.

Is this an indication that I will have a horrible pregnancy?

Also, I think I am starting to show, is that possible? someone at work asked me if I was preggo (a good friend, so I didn't mind telling her, but still...can people tell?)

Sorry for sounding like I'm whining so much, but I really feel horrible.

All of your symptoms are perfectly normal believe it or not and the 1st trimester is the worst so be prepared.

However, i doubt you could possibly be showing yet. You probably are bloated, which happened to me. I looked like i was showing but i was just very bloated and had bad gas Chat Icon

Don't fret too much about it. The symptoms usually get much better as the weeks go on. At least that is what i have found now.

you will be ok and it will pass most likely after the first trimester - I had the same thing and HATED IT! I just wanted to get some relief - try ginger - anything with ginger - and the preggie pops help a little - and carbs - definitely helped

pmpkin -- you are the opposite of me -- I feel like I hardly have any symptoms. I am 4 weeks, too and had cramping and bloating previously, but most those symptoms have subsided. I actually keep temping to make sure I'm still PG b/c I feel so good right now -- no sickness, lots of energy.

I kind of wish I had more symptoms to make it feel more real!

Be careful of what you wish for. Chat Icon

I can understand where you are coming from. But, the extremely painful boobies is enough of a symptom for me. I could do without the puking and hot flashes. Chat Icon

Since we are so close in time and so opposite in symptoms, it would be fun to see how we are for the 9 month journey.

I feel the same way...I am almost 8 weeks and no symptoms (except for being a little tired). Not that I want m/s...I just want to feel something, anything, to make me feel PG.

pmpkn -- This is exciting that our timing is close. When is your first pre-natal visit? Mine is 3/28.

luvsun -- I guess we should count ourselves lucky that our symptoms are light, although it could change. My cousin had no m/s during the 1st tri, but ended up with it in the 2nd -- go figure.

Me too. Friday will be 8 weeks and I feel great. (knock on wood- I'm certainly not trying to jinx myself) My only real symptom is sore boobs, and the fact they've already grown almost a full cup size.

Re: Is this normal?

I am also 4 6/7 with an LMP of 2/1 so we're in the same boat!

I have this strange dizziness and chest swelling (I have to go shopping already!) - this is going to get me busted by my family. No real nausea thank god.

First appt tomorrow Chat Icon

We are about the same in terms of how far along we are and my boobs are so sore...a slight wind could make me scream! Chat Icon

As far as being very hot and sick a lot...I'm right with you...I have also lost my appetite and can't sleep through the night, yet I nap all day...very different from the insomniac I use to be.

My DH laughs at my new found sense of smell...he claims I can smell the fart of the neighbor 3 doors down! Chat Icon

I hear it gets better after the first trimester...
We tried for so long to get pregnant that I promised my DH that when we did...I'd puke with a smile. The other morning...4:30 AM as I was puking...I turned to him and said, "I'm not smiling!!"

But -- truthfully, I could not be more excited...I know this will pass...Hang in there!Chat Icon

Re: Is this normal?

Steph...you are so not alone. I was so cisk during my pregnancy that I stopped using shampoo on my hair. I sued to puke in the shower. It was really, really bad for me at least. It will get better I promise! DH could not kiss me because it would make me sick...literally! You'll feel better!!!!!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Is this normal?

Thanks so much ladies. I'm not so scared now.

I was mostly worried about the hot flashes and the fact that I am not THAT far along. It's good to know that I am not alone, anthough I do not wish this on anyone.
