Is there such thing as pumping too early?
My DS 9 days old and I started pumping yesterday. I'm not planning to introduce the bottle for at least another week, so I am going to freeze the BM. I decided to pump b/c I was so engorged, but then I feel like he has been intermittenly having latching problems, especially on the breast that I pump. Any suggestions? I don't want to mess with my supply. TIA!
Also, how many ounces is good for each bottle? I don't want to waste it. I have one with 4 oz and 3 with 2-3 oz.

I had no plans to bottle feed until DS was 6 weeks old. Well, I stayed in the hospital longer than him. When he was 6 days old I had to begin pumping. I sent my pumped milk home to him. It all worked out.
We kept his bottles at 2 ounces in those first few weeks. If he neededmore, we would add 1 oz at a time. If you already have 4oz frozen togehter, you can always defrost them when the time comes and split them between two bottles. Or just keep them frozen and use them in a few months. By then, 4oz would be a normal bottle.
I wouldn't waste your breastmilk. If it isn't finished in one sitting, we always gave the rest at the next feeding.

Great, thanks! He just seems to have problems latching on to the boob i pump at the next feeding. Is there a particular setting I should keep the pump on?
I was thinking 2 oz is a good amount for now, but I was going to ask the pediatrician tomorrow. When you save the BM for the next feeding, do you put back in fridge or keep out?
