Is there such a thing as an EASY toddler?
If you have one, don't rub it in , I'm just curious to know if there are any out there.
I know Jack is good most of the time - but my god, when he's bad - he's really really really bad.
I feel like I'm negotiating with a terrorist sometimes. And, then he turns on the charm and I feel so guilty.
I mean, right now, he is eating ketchup with his fingers instead of the food that's on his plate. I feel like I may go insane!

Re: Is there such a thing as an EASY toddler?
The "easy" toddlers are not the norm. There are some but they did not come up with "the terrible 2" for nothing.
I think DS is "easy" compared to other kids. He is calm. But he does have his whinning moments. I can't stand the whining.

Sophie - the whining is what kills me. From about 6:30 this morning until 8am all we heard was "EHHHHHHHHHH" -- So, I think I actually lost my mind and started whining right back in his face. He would crack up laughing. I think he knows I've lost it!

Re: Is there such a thing as an EASY toddler?
well, it depends on what your definition of easy is....
do I think my daughter is "easy" compared to others? well, yes- she doesn't have tantrums, she does- for the most part- listen.. although she does have her moments...
Does she do things that drive me crazy? of course! That's all children..
By the way- my DD thinks ketchup is a food group and will eat that above any other food on her plate- I think that is totally normal.

Re: Is there such a thing as an EASY toddler?
Caden is, for the most part, a fairly easy toddler....
He has his moments but he is fairly well behaved and listens pretty good...
But....
With that said...
I am comparing him to his sisters who were all complete nightmares when they were his age....

Re: Is there such a thing as an EASY toddler?
I don't think so-I think they all have their moments.
DD is fantastic a lot of the time but when she has her moments-errrrr
I think it is harder when you have a toddler and newborn-I'm sure it makes those moments even harder

I know how you feel. TJ always listened to me but now that the baby is here he is testing me more. He won't clean up right away when I ask or he'll argue with me about taking a bath. Everything right now is "i'll do it later"

Re: Is there such a thing as an EASY toddler?
I'll be honest and say I thought Christopher was easier when I was working. I only spent a few hours a day with him and he IS fun.
Now Chris thinks he is easy b/c he only spends a few hours a day with him
I think now, at 2.5, as he starts to have opinions, things are rough because he wants things HIS way v. the way I say it should be

Re: Is there such a thing as an EASY toddler?
i think i do- she behaves most of the time...DEFINITELY has her moments and is feisty for sure. there are days i could pull out my hair! its normal. she goes down to sleep @ 7:30 pm and will play quietly in her crib til i get her @ 9am. she takes a good 2 hr nap regularly no fights. so as i write this i am screaming at her to go into time out so i guess there is no such thing! lol i swear i spoke too soon!

Re: Is there such a thing as an EASY toddler?
I used to think DD was so easy before DS came along. After he was born there were days where her head would be spinning like the exorcist .
Compared to DS as a toddler - she was a lot more mellow, less destructive, didn't eat things she shouldn't...DS is the opposite.
Both are pretty happy children but def have their moments and there are times where I absolutely cannot reason with them and have to just let them scream it out like lunatics.

Sometime I forget that my oldest (22 months) is there.
I may be mistaking you with another poster but if you just had a baby, perhaps he is acting out.
Good Luck!!

DD has been called an easy baby.
She has her moments, but for the most part is pretty easy going.

omgosh
DS is pretty easy. He is calm, rarely throws tempertantrums....BUT, he does definitley have the whining down pat and like you, Diana, I do it right back..he looks at me like I have 10 heads. Another "new" thing he does is chase the cat, go after his tail, etc...The cat won't run away, so, I yell at both of them..LOL

Re: Is there such a thing as an EASY toddler?
I can't define Bella as "easy" or "difficult".
I can say she's a good toddler. She sure has her moments and gets in trouble, but I think for the most part, she's manageable She pushes my buttons, but I'm learning to deal with things better which I think in turn makes deal better.
It's really different every day, sometimes I find myself yelling a lot and others I go..."WOW! She was SO awesome today".
She's definitely showing her independence and growing into the "attitude"
I don't think she'll ever be defined as "easy" though

Re: Is there such a thing as an EASY toddler?
My DD is awesome IF you give her your undivided attention 99% of the time.
I don't have anyone to compare her to, so for me she's not "easy" but I don't equate her with the nightmare stories you hear about the terrible twos either.

Benjamin is actually a fairly easy toddler most of the time. He definitely has his moments where I wonder what planet he came from but I think they all do.

Re: Is there such a thing as an EASY toddler?
I think that my dd is very easy, flexible always on the run with me, and so easy to negotiate with.... when she is with me. When she is with DH she whines and cries for me which really fustrates him. He would defintiely not describe her the same way that I do!
