Is life going to be over...
One of my co-workers asks me today. So are you ready for life to be over? I know your life changes when you have a baby but I didn't like that comment. I hate it when they say things just to scare you! How annoying!

i actually have been thinking about this. dh and i used to just pick up and go out for dinner, for drinks, or just to pop over at some friends house and now i feel like we can't do it anymore! i guess i'm just trying to look at it more like life isn't over, it just needs to be scheduled now!

Well I told her "yes I know my old life is over, and I'm looking forward to my new one, with my son". I cannot believe this comment came from a mother of 2!

Yes it will take a lot of scheduling and hard work but when my son throws his arms around me and says "I love you mommy" then I know that giving up my old life was worth it just to hear those words.

exactly. i know we can't do things like we used to, but think of all the fun 'family' things we can do now
I'm already looking forward to the family things we can now do. I have been afraid of flying since 9/11 and now I am willing to jump on a plane to take my sone to Disney next year by the time he turns 1, but DH wants to go on a cruise with him because he wants to take him to the beaches in the carribbean....

Yes for us too. We have had all our fun doing the just me and him things. Now we want the family fun stuff too. I mean it's not like we are sitting down saying "oh I wish we got to do this before we had a baby" because we haven't. We have done so much together that I don't have any regrets. Will I miss my just get up and go lifestyle? Of course, I mean I am human but that's ok. I will just have to get used to my new scheduled life with a baby.

That is what I wish happens to us. Not I don't love him because I do, I absolutely adore him, he is my rock. I want that love to go even deeper when he becomes a Dad because he will be a great Father...

As you know it now....YES but having a baby is the beginning a new and truly blessed life. I wouldn't trade my daughter for anything I had before she was born.
