Is it true that...
Your baby's weight depends on what you and DH weighed? Today at work, someone said- wow you're going to have a big baby.. And I thought well, I was 7lbs 3oz and DH was 6lbs 11oz so I dont think so. Is there any truth to this? Just curious

Re: Is it true that...
I thought I heard that younger siblings usually weigh more than the eldest... so each subsequent pregnancy results in a baby of higher weight
anyone else ever hear that?

Re: Is it true that...
Ella weighed less than both Al and I, but neither of us were 1st born, and subsequent babies do tend to be bigger (I was #2, and he was #4)
Ella - 6lb7 Me - 7lb7 Al - 8lb

Im not too sure about that theory...my older brother was 9 something...i was 7 12 like i said in a PP and my younger brother was 10 something...so i was the smallest but the middle child
maybe it holds true for some families but maybe not others?

Re: Is it true that...
I think we were all smaller back then...
That said, however, I was 7lbs11oz, and my DH was nearly 11lbs! Our daughter was 9lbs.... so perhaps there is some truth to it.

Re: Is it true that...
I wouldn't believe any of them....
me: 9lbs, 9oz DH: 7lbs, 11oz DC: 9lbs, 11oz (kinda cute he added 2oz to my weight but 2LBS to Dh's weight)
My siblings: 6lbs, 7lbs4oz, then me at 9lbs, 9oz
DHs siblings: 7lbs 11oz, then 7lbs4oz, then 6 something

Re: Is it true that...
I asked my Dr about this - since I had heard it before and I was almost 9lbs and DH was 8lbs. She said our birth weight has no relevancy on what our baby will weigh.

Re: Is it true that...
DH was around 7 and I was in the 6 range. DS was 9lb 14oz. So I cant say it held true. But my neices and nephews on my side of the family are all 9 pounders if thats any indication.
And in my family I am the youngest and was the smallest child. with my brothers 3, his first is the biggest, his 3rd is just a few oz less and his middle child was the smallest.
