Is it too early to start registering?

DH and I don't really have plans today, and my sciatica is REALLY acting up (meaning I can't really sit or lay down for too long--I have to keep moving). So we were thinking of heading up to BRU to start our registry.

Is it WAY too early? I'm 13 1/2 weeks...

Just trying to get a general consensus. Chat Icon

The only thing you might have to do if register now is be sure to monitor it - especially if you use BRU, as their inventory constantly changes.

I did mine at 20 weeks and I do not feel there is any "rule", so if you want to register, I think you should. We just decided to wait until after our Level II, but that was a personal choice. I also wanted to get closer to my shower, which was at 28 weeks.

You can start it, I mean, it is one way to keep cool at the very least.

But just be warned that you will probably change it one million times before your showerChat Icon

Re: Is it too early to start registering?

I registered online when I first found out that I was pregnant. I did pink and blue stuff. When I found out I was having a boy, I deleted all the pink.

i think if you are not going to find out the sex of the baby then it doesnt really matter when you register.

If you want to know - then I would suggest waiting until you find out so you can get the gender specific things you may want

Re: Is it too early to start registering?

i waited until my 20 week level 2 to make sure things were alright with the baby.

although i wanted to register earlier, there were too many chances of things going wrong before 20 weeks that i didn't want to chance it

Re: Is it too early to start registering?

Go for it! you can always update later and online if you like that option as well.

I registered at 20 wks online. Have not step foot in BRU. I only went to BBB to see furniture, strollers and car seats.

IMO, it's never too early... just more of an opportunity to organize w/o making flip decisions due to time constraints

I think I am going to wait until the mid-way point so I know things are as okay as possible........

Re: Is it too early to start registering?

We registered around 16 or so weeks. We registered for gender neutral stuff and then when we found out what we were having we went back and added some gender specific stuff.

Re: Is it too early to start registering?

I started shopping for things I would register for early on...but didn't register until our Level II sono.

however, you can always start a registry now with a few things and add of later. Do whatever you feel is best.

I did it and i am 17 weeks..
plus, i already ordered my baby furniture!
I am a positive thinker, plus the odds are with you, most babies turn out cute and great! By the time you get your NT and AFP usually they can start to tell anyways if there is a problem!

Re: Is it too early to start registering?

it's definitely good to start early... just keep the registry to yourself for another 10 weeks or so.... that will give you time to research the major purchases and possibly change your mind...

I registered (online, not in the shop) at 12 weeks, and changed virtually EVERY major purchase between then and 18 weeks. Did a few minor changes between 18-22 weeks... and now I'm totally content with my choices
