Is it normal (re: + OPK)
Is it normal to get a + OPK one day and a - the next?
I know when you get a + they say you should BD in the next 24-36 hours but I thought it strange when the next day came up - I tested twice on the same day (holding pee for 4 hours) to be sure too and the same result came up.
We BD'ed both days regardless of the OPK but I was just curious.

My last cycle I got a positive in the am and negative in the afternoon. Then positive the next am. It could be maybe you drank too much water. FMU is always stronger, so that could be a contributing factor as well. Just keep BDing.

yes, it could be your body gearing up and releasing LH to ovulate. Sometimes there will be a surge and no O. Then your body might try again in the same month, a few days later. I have this last month, positive on CD13, negative on CD14 and positive on CD15 and 16.
I would keep testing until you get a positive and a change in CM or a shift in BBT

That's interesting! I didn't know that actually could happen. Thanks for the info ladies!

if you catch the end of the LH surge one day, you may get a +OPK one day and a - the next. that happened to me and I did confim that I O'ed so it really depends when you get hte first + and how long your LH surge actually is. but it sounds like you BD'd appropriately anyway

The OPK is testing for the surge in LH in your system. Most women will only get a + on one day, some two days in a row... the important thing to note is that once you do get a +OPK, you will most likely O in the next 12-36 hours. You don't O on the same day your get your + OPK unless you're catching the surge towards the end and you'll be Oing that same day.
I think a great rule of thumb is to BD on the day you get a + OPK and the next two days, and regardless of OPK results, always BD when you have fertile quality CM.
