Is it me?
DH and I went to the city for his friends Bday last night. We all met at a bar for drinks. After drinks, we walked to DHs truck to drive to the restaurant. When we were close to the car, the friend says 'shotgun'. I didn't say anything to him. But seriously, you turned 30, not 13, I'm his wife, you're a friend, sit in the back with your friend that you invited.
Should I just have been nice and not cared? Or is his friend still stuck in high school?

As an adult, it is pretty lame to actually CALL shotgun. However if the driver is having a conversation with someone before getting in that car, I would usually say "Ill sit in the back." and I am ok with that. Growing up it was the oldest who sat up front untilI became the tallest and longer legs ruled!

Same here. I have sat in the backwith a friends wife if we were with another couple and let the guy sit up front with DH, but yelling shotgun is lame. Also I don't know if I'd sit back there alone though if it was just the 3 of us.

Say something like "When you start having $ex with him, *then* you can call shotgun."
The only time I've called "shotgun" in the last 10 or 15 years is when a bunch of us from work go out to eat. We're all in our 30s, all guys, so it's OK to act like we're in our teens. Definitely not OK if there is a DW involved...... That rule even applied during high school if the driver had a girlfriend.
