Is DVR really worth it?
I know just about everyone seems to love having DVR, but I HATE the thought of giving Cablevision another penny! 
worth the extra $10 a month?

Best $10 we spend a month! 
Seriously, I adore it. It is so easy, and we have it set to record so many shows every time they play a new episode. So we can tape the Lost episode, then watch it later and scan through commercials!
Or start every show 10 or 15 mins late and scan through commercials!

Yes...We had Tivo previously and we have it through Cablevision now. You can record one show and watch another show at the same time. Or even record two seperate shows at the same time. Once you have it you will definately enjoy it IMO.

Hands down, yes. I spent 2 years trying to convince my DH to get it because I was tired of VCR'ing stuff. He finally agreed and we will never go back!

I agree. I dont really watch *that* much TV, but I love having the ability to record anything anytime.
It is definitely worth it IMO.

I JUST got Cablevision and DVR on Saturday and I must say, I LOVE the pause function!!! I never get to sit and watch a whole show without 20 interruptions. Now I just pause the show, do what I have to do and come back to unpause...never miss a beat!
I still have to read the book though cause I'm sure there's a million new things I can do now with DVR. I must learn!

We have two because the one in the living room gets filled up in the heat of tv season, so we have a backup in the bedroom.

Yes!!! I like the freedom of watching my shows when I feel like watching them plus I hate commercials so I just ffwd through them (all of a sudden 1 hour show turns out to be 45 min only )

I agree, we actually have both TIVO (it was a gift) and the Cablevision DVR and we love both of them. I can't remember what life was like without it now!
