is dr braverman...
a perinatalogist?
I was referred (by a mc/infertility therapist) to a perinatalogist and RE named Dr Kofinas. Unfortunately he is in litigation with GHI and I would have to pay out of pocket and HOPE and PRAY that they reimburse me. The money is too much for that type of gamble.
Would Dr B be the same type of doctor??

dr. b is a reproductive endocrinologist, not a perinatalogist.
the difference is dr. B's job is to GET you pregnant.
a perinatologists job is to keep you pregnant, specifically for high risk pregnancies.
are you already pregnant? as far as i know if not than you want to see an RE, not a peri.
dr. b is located in woodbury and his office # is 516.584.8710

I'm not pregnant. I think she was trying to send me to someone who could do both (get me pregnant and keep me pregnant).... so a perinatalogist who is also an RE.
I think I'm going to go with Dr B though.
Thank you. Whenever I post, I don't usually get many replies but you are always there to respond with good information.

aww no problem
dr. b will get you pregnant. once you are pregnant he will see you til around 10 weeks depending on your diagnoses (recurrent m/c vs infertility..etc). after that i think you would need to see a peri if you are high risk only. im not totally sure of that.
i see dr. b and i will tell you he is one of the best doctors and most amazing people you will ever meet. he hasn't gotten me to stay pregnant yet (possibly 3 chemicals, two of which were confirmed chemical) but i have so much confidence that he will get me there..hopefully on my first IVF attempt  .

oh so you heard of Kofinas?? i really wanted to go to him but with the GHI issue he is having it just would be silly. But I feel good with Dr b too bc you guys all rave about him so much.... so he must be good.
i made an appt for sept 28th. i hope it goes well. I don't know what to expect at all. I'm kinda scared actually.

They both are great Dr.'s and pretty much will do the same testing etc...
There are 2 Dr. Kofinas'. They're brothers. One will get you pregnant, the other, keep you pregnant.
I ended up with Dr. B mainly b/c the first appt. w/ Dr. Kofinas (George) was 3 months from the time I called. I most certainly didn't want to wait another 3 months.
I met w/ Dr. B and never looked back. Best choice and decision I ever made! I was looking to switch from a different RE.
