Is bowling ok?
I have a work bowling event tonight and my mother flipped out when I told her I was going bowling. She thinks I am going to pull a muscle in my back.
So, has anyone heard that bowling is dangerous while pregnant? I'm 15 weeks.

I used to bowl on a league and their was a girl there who would bowl up until as far as she could with all 3 pregnancies and had no problems.

Re: Is bowling ok?
i hadn't bowled since last year. i went at 15 1/2 weeks for my birthday. i'm not competitive at all (i actually suck ) but i can tell you that my the end of the first game, i definitely felt my abdominal muscles straining.
i never really heard it was dangerous, although someone else mentioned to me that they had heard this... i would just take it easy and listen to your body. don't strain yourself!!!

Re: Is bowling ok?
Thanks! I have a call into the doctor, but posted the topic just in case I had to leave before she got back to me.
I'll take it easy and see how it goes. Might be hard cause I'm a little competitive. But, if I stink tonight, at least I'll have an excuse to explain my poor performance.

Now that is the quote of the day

My mother told me she was in a league when PG with me and bowled up until the end. Man, she must have sucked at that point b/c I can't even walk gracefully.

for me it's not my mom, it's my DH. don't lift that (uhm, it's a bag with two 2L bottles... I think I can still handle it!) Meanwhile, he doesn't mind if I still wash my 35 lb cast iron skillet

Re: Is bowling ok?
I was probably 6 months pregnant and the guy at Dave and Busters wouldn't let me bowl. I probably would have looked like a fool anyway.

Re: Is bowling ok?
I went bowling a few weeks ago...I was about 29 weeks. My first ball...I threw and fell down!! I think I wasn't used to all the weight in front! I continued...but just took it a little easier!

I think it depends on how you handle your balls.

Well, I handled my balls just fine ... and even won a prize for highest women's score! I did get tired more quickly, but had a good time.
Thanks ladies!
