Is anyone here an artist?

As in can draw?

eta- lots of other things are art, I am just specifically looking for someone to help me draw something out right now.

All the tatoo threads got me thinking. Right before I got pregnant I decided I wanted a tatoo, but then I was pregnant and in the middle of pregnancy...well we know my story.
ANYWAY
when I finally get better I want to do a tatto of a butterfly since it represents re-birth. However, a bazillion women have a butterfly tattoo's somewhere on their body (be it wrist, lower back, shoulder, neck ect.)
I am trying to figure out a way to incorporate a butterfly and a cancer ribbon using the colors specific for my type of cancer.

Like maybe the body is the cancer ribbon and the wings spread out from where the ribbon instersects.

or maybe instead of spots there are small cancer ribbons

or anything else that may be suggested.

My DH is an artist. I can let him know your ideas and maybe he can come up with something for you. Let me know.

Would love it!
Even if I get the sketch way before I can get the tatoo, it can give me somethign beautiful and artistic to stare at and strive for.

Don't hesitate to go into a tattoo parlor and have them sketch it up for you... they're amazing artists and most times if you bring them something that you or someone else drew, they tweak it a little bit so it will translate to your skin.

I think the ribbon for the body of the butterfly is a great idea. What colors are associated with your type of cancer??

i was just about to say this.... the tattoo artists are amazing and often so good at executing your idea. dont hesitate to ask them.

i can draw, but of course one thing i suck at is butterflies.

thanks for the suggestions to go to the tat place. The reasons I was asking here is because
1. I wanted something to look at months in advance
2. I'm too sick to go to a tat parlor

also, I saw that the ribbon pic isn't that clear, iif the colors don't translate well, they are burgandy and ivory

I think, if you are feeling well and able to leave the house for a little while, you can go in and have them draw something up whenever, you can let them know that you aren't in the best condition to get a tattoo right now, but when you're better you plan on coming back and getting something. I'm sure they would draw it up... but then again, they may want you to guarentee and appt. It's worth a shot.

ETA: I LOOOVE your chat avatar... He's just too adorable!! He's gonna be a heartbreaker with those eyes!!

cancer ribbon is ivory and burgandy.
I'm not sure where to get it. I always thought I would get it on my lower back but I don't think I want it there anymore.

I got hit with another infection this week, I haven't left my bed (except for the bathroom) since returning from the doctor on Wednesday.

Thanks for the compliment on the mini-muffin. He keeps me sane.

Deb, I'm no help in the artistic department, but I just wanted to say that I think that the idea of merging the butterfly and that cancer ribbon is beautiful - and this is coming from someone who generally does not like tattoos!

I can't draw at all, but I LOVELOVELOVE butterflies (that's what my tattoo is of) because of their symbolism.

I have a picture in my mind of what you want, but like I said, I can't draw. I imagine it will be beautiful though.
