Is anyone familiar with the E Village?
I have to go to 47 Great Jones St, which is 3rd St B/w Lafayette Pl and 3rd Ave.
Is Broadway/Lafayette on the F line the closest subway stop? How far is it from the station?
TIA

To get to Great Jone's I'd say take the N/R to 8th St & Broadway and walk over or take the 6 to Astor Place (and walk south along Lafayette) or the B, D or F to Broadway-Lafayette
all three are centrally located.

I think it is better if you take the 6 train. Get off at Astor Place. Exit where it says Lafayette / Astor Place. Walk South on Lafayette towards E 4th Street. Make left on Great Jones Street.
If you take the F, you can get off on 2nd Avenue, but I think you will have to walk further. If you don't know where to get the 6, let me know.

I'm taking the A, so it's really hard for me to get the 6.
I'm going to try the F to 2nd Ave.

Re: Is anyone familiar with the E Village?
The Astor Place stop on the 6 train is probably closer than the Broadway-Lafayette stop on the F train, but not by much - a few blocks maybe?
If I were on the F, I would stay on the F, rather than transferring to the 6, because you'd have to do it a Lexington and have to walk all that way underground to transfer. I'd stay on the F and just walk the few extra blocks when I got off.

Re: Is anyone familiar with the E Village?
OMG. No one told me what a bad area the 2nd ave station is.
On the way there (in daylight) it's not so bad, but E of Bowery it's scary. it was so much better walking to the Astor Place Station.
I think I have to take the A to B'way/Nassau Fulton and get the 4/5 to Brooklyn Bridge, to get the 6 to Astor. What a pain.
but Astor Pl is close, it's familiar to me and there are people there.
ETA: Cause my rehearsals are 7-10. So I'm coming home sorta late
