I'm nervous about my large inguinal hernia- that it will become very painful and pop all the way out

No. There are really not many options and this kid needs to come out somehow, right? I try not to worry about things I cannot control.

A little, but I am more optomistic that maybe I'll actually have a VBAC this time rather than a planned c-section

same here. i know that i will be okay as long as i have my DH's support, along with the nurses. they do this all the time, i don't have anything to be worried about. other than pooping on the table

Re: Is anyone else worried about the delivery?Pushing, etc?
i'm getting so worried!!! I'm 32 weeks, and this is clouding my end of pregnancy happiness! i'm scared of the pain. I don't want a million people in and out watching me while I'm miserable. I'm scared of being stitched up. I'm afraid to push , I don't want to be pushing for 2 + hours. I have such anxiety about this, I wish I could take a pill for it I'm worried about my recovery I try not to think about it, but sometimes I lay awake at night thinking about it!! I'm a small person and I'm afraid DC will break me into splinters
anyone else?? feel this way
ETA: I have no tolerance for pain, This is a big issue for me!!

Re: Is anyone else worried about the delivery?Pushing, etc?
I was SO WORRIED about this. Infact when I was in labor I kept saying that I was afraid I wouldn't push the right way. But when the time came, the nurses told me what to do...and I just did it. You can really feel how you need to push. Hard to explain, but you will know. Don't worry.

Re: Is anyone else worried about the delivery?Pushing, etc?
with my dd i pushed for 2 hours.. and my epi wore off. I had a covering a doc. b/c my was off for the jewish holiday and he wouldnt give me more. I think if the nurse had me in a better position i would have been pushing alot less.. this time im making sure im propped up more than i was, making it easier to push.

Re: Is anyone else worried about the delivery?Pushing, etc?
Until the moment the doctor said "you're going to start pushing now" I was nervous too!
But maybe my experience can help a little...
The doctor topped off my epi for me before I was told to start pushing...she had to deliver another baby so I had that while i waited. When she came in she explained that you push like you are constipated...that's all. Try not to hold anything in because it will prevent a good push. She placed her fingers on the outside of certain areas and told me to focus on that and push in the space where I felt her fingers outlined.
It was so much easier to have a task to complete and the pushing was easy based on her directions. She did countdowns each time where I just had to keep pushing. Sometimes I couldn't complete the countdown and she said it was okay but really cheered me on each time.
Once my husband shouted that he could see the baby I had no problem pushing past the count because I was so excited. Afterwards I was exhausted but still excited and emotional to see my son.

Re: Is anyone else worried about the delivery?Pushing, etc?
Even the 2nd time, a year and a half later, I forgot how to push. Both of my kids were born with just 5 pushes - I consider myself VERY lucky.
Just some advice...don't be afraid to poop - you probably won't care or even think about it when the time comes. When you push the baby out, you hold your legs back...put your chin to your chest and push like you are going number 2. The key to getting baby out is to push as if you are pooping. Good luck ladies - it's really not so bad as long as the baby is low and in the right position! HTH!

Re: Is anyone else worried about the delivery?Pushing, etc?
im worried. i wasnt the first 2 times, but thats b/c it was far enough apart where i didnt remember the pain. DS only just turned 1 this week, so i remember it pretty vividly. I also know what im in for after the birth too.

Re: Is anyone else worried about the delivery?Pushing, etc?
I am not really worried. My doctor and the nurses will tell me what I need to do and when I need to do it. They will do what is in the best interest in mine and health and delivery.
Now the pain well thats a whole other thread

Re: Is anyone else worried about the delivery?Pushing, etc?
Not worried at all since it didnt really hurt me with DS. He came out in like 20 minutes of pushing. The epidural was still working so that is probably why i didnt feel it as much.
