Is anyone else scared they might have problems?
I have always had this fear of infertility.. We want to start TTCing in either June or July... Now that I am on CD 68 with no ovulation or AF in sight, I am really getting scared I will have a problem conceiving. I have an appointment with a new doctor on the 15th, and I know I am probably jumping way ahead of myself, but does anyone else have a similar fear?

Yup! I am a bit older and my best friend tried for over ten years to have a baby and couldn't (including 3 IVFs!).
So yes, I am not taking anything for granted.

Re: Is anyone else scared they might have problems?
Yes, I am thinking it more each month. I wanted children when I was younger. Then as I got older I liked the fact that DH and I can do and have what we want without the pressure of a family. I was adament about NOT having kids. Now 1 yr of trying without BC and nothing. So I think I jinxed myself. I have this friend who had 2 MC and would always get mad when she found out people were PG, I would tell he r you cant get mad, when its your turn it will happen. Well thank god, it happened and she has her "miracle" baby he was a premie and in NICU for 4 months. Now here is the sad part, I find myslef upset but happy when I hear so and so is PG. I get then two seconds later . So I guess I just wait and see. Good luck to you. Sorry I kind of got away from the question.

Re: Is anyone else scared they might have problems?
This is my biggest fear. Three of my closest friends have gone through IVF to concieve.
When I went for my checkup (new OBGYN) I told my doc we wanted to try. He did a ultrasound for the heck of it and noticed I ovulated but saw that I had problems with my uterus. After an MRI, he said that there was no problem with my uterus but I have a thin wall in my birth canal - it's straight so it wouldn't block any of the boys from going up. It's not in textbooks - can you imagine? He said he didn't think that there would be a problem conceiving but I would have to have a c-section. He said try for 6 mth and then I might have to have surgery.
We have had 3 mths of BFN and that sinking feeling is coming.

Re: Is anyone else scared they might have problems?
I am scared and I just went to the doctor to discuss this. My DH was having issues, and we found out his sperm is good, but not a lot of volume (liquid), so he has to have a few more tests done and then correct it. I hope that is it for us, and I will go on to get a BFP soon.I talked to my doctor who told me to get his probelm fixed first and then try if after 6 months ( I am 35) no BFP to go to a RE. I am so scared of doctors as it is, and I am not going to be too thrilled if I have to go forward to get pregnant from a RE, but I will do what I have to do to get that BFP.
ETA... My doctor told me that if I get regular AF , no serious health problems, etc, I should get pregnant, but you never know until you try. She also told me to try to not keep it scientific, and just try when I get a positive on the OPK.

Re: Is anyone else scared they might have problems?
Yes, I was... and I do have problems Everyone around me has no problem getting pregnant. I just found out that my cousin who had a baby last January is pregnant again, as is her sister who got married a month after DH and I did. My sister got PG right away....and I hear all these stories of people who "accidently" get pregnant. It's seriously depressing me.
My close family know what's going on, and I've asked them to stop telling me when they hear that so, and so is pregnant.

Re: Is anyone else scared they might have problems?
I was scared and I was right. I just didnt know what my problems would be. But just having gotten home today from surgery, I am so incredibly hopeful. There is so much in the way of science and technology and medicine and surgery to help people. Try to have faith. I know it is easier said than done, but so far, I am living proof.

Re: Is anyone else scared they might have problems?
I have a big fear that there might be a problem. We started in July and I got PG in Nov. and M/C in December, We are still trying. I go to the DR for my annual on the 23rd. I am going to discuss with her, what our next step will be, since in will be a year of trying soon. And of course this cycle I am on CD 21 and I still have not ovulated!!!

Re: Is anyone else scared they might have problems?
Yes. It took my sister over three years to get pregnant and also for two of my friends. I only have recently started ttc but it already stresses me out. Have you just recently come off BCP?

Yes, I have a fear. I am and have always been so irregular. I'm worried that it will be a problem for me. Getting up in age is not helping my fears.

I am completely!! I always think I won't be able to conceive. My AF is all over the place.I get it every month, but it is either early or late. My sister said she had the same fear, but she has three healthy kids, and had no problems.

Re: Is anyone else scared they might have problems?
This is a huge fear of mine, and may be a reason why I still haven't committed to officially TTC even though I stopped BCP in Feb. I'm scared of the disappointment if we really do try and it doesn't happen.
I don't have any evidence that I will have a problem, just genes (my grandma tried for 10 years before she had my mom) and I had a doctor tell me I might have endo once.

Re: Is anyone else scared they might have problems?
I had the fear big time. I got my pd late, when I was 16 and my cycles were so out of wack so I went on the pill. The last time I came off the pill (like 4 yrs ago when I was 25) my cycles were CRAZY. 35 days, 45 days, 72 days, 60 days, etc etc, so I went back on it. I always thought I would never be able to have a baby...especially since my sister coudn't conceive when she was trying. Well, after I got married and came off the pill again I thought for sure it was going to take years to conceive....and I ended up getting pregnant the 1st month! I was shocked. Completely and utterly shocked. I worried all those years for nothing! My family calls this the miracle baby (because I made it out for so long that I knew I was going to have problems and I wanted a baby so bad!)
So don't worry, you never know what is going to happen!!!!

same here, thought i was going to have issues b/c the doctors thought i had PCOS, the sono revealed cysts that my Dr. wasnt sure was it or not, i had really late and irregular periods, and was a really late ovulator , and we got preggos on the 1st try too! I was so surprised and happy b/c i remember the month before we were TTC one of the doctors telling me i should go on fertility meds and DH and I hadn't even started yet! So def dont worry, esp if you havent even started TTC yet, i had friends who were in perfect health and it took them up to a year to get pregnant.

Yes, although I had regular periods before going on BC. Not going to TTC yet but it's still a fear.

I am with you on everyone else getting pg with no problem. Tues, DH has to go for the semen analysis, so I am concerned. Then, I have to go get my tubes checked. So tough, I never in a million years would have guessed it would be. All those years trying to not get pg! If I only knew...

Re: Is anyone else scared they might have problems?
Unfortunately, no, I wasn't fearful that I may have problems, therefore when I did find out that it is going to be difficult for us to conceive it was very devistating.
So maybe you're better off for having just a little fear, though I wish you nothing but the BEST!! I know I took getting pregnant for granted, now I certainly don't.
Are you intending to get a pregnancy test when you go to the doctor? Could it be that you ARE PG!? That would be a great turn of events...
Try not to stress about it too much, that too could be messing up your cycle.
Good luck!

Re: Is anyone else scared they might have problems?
See originally I always assumed I would get PG on the first shot. My mom never had to try and my SIL also got PG very easily (first shot and second was an accident). So I haven't had a lot of exposure to IF. But now that we are on our fourth month TTC, I will say the thoughts are starting to creep into my mind. Luckliy I have a very regular cycle and I am pretty sure I O every month so I just think it's a matter of time and I am trying to stay positive.
A little side note for you, I was on BC for 6 years and went off. My first year off was horrible. The first few cycles were 35+ days and then about 6 months later I had a cycle that was over 60 days (anovulatory). They told me they could put me back on BC to restart it or I could just wait it out. So I waited and it finally came. Since then I have been pretty regular. Just thought I would give you some hope that it will turn out ok

It's my biggest fear and I agree, I feel so naive that I thought it would be easy. I also tried so hard for NOT to get pregnant. to everyone!

Re: Is anyone else scared they might have problems?
I was scared because my cycles, when I'm off the pill, are out of whack. Plus, there were many times in our relationship that I'd miss pills and never had an accident.
It worked out though. I O'd late and it took some time, but it happened.

Re: Is anyone else scared they might have problems?
Thanks for responding, everyone.. Its good to know that I am not the only one who feels this way.
I really don't think I am PG.. back when AF was first late I took a bunch of PG tests. When I went to my first dr. appt they took a took a test and it was neg. Granted that was almost a month ago, but I don't think I have Oed this cycle.
