Is anyone else completely overwhelmed after reading Baby Bargains?

Holy cow, there is sooooo much to think about in deciding which car seats, strollers, etc. My head is pounding thinking about all this.

Of course, the ever helpful DH says "just circle what you want and we'll get it".

As if this was like picking out what you want for Christmas out of the Toys R Us Catalog when you're 5!

I get overwhelmed everytime I sit down to register or go to the store. Baby Bargains helped ease my panic a little. I'm finding doing it slowly helps. I starting at 18wks and am still adding at 23wks.

Re: Is anyone else completely overwhelmed after reading Baby Bargains?

I concentrated on one thing at a time.

Start with what car seat & stroller you want. Then move on to the swing, bouncy chair, play mat, mobile. Them on to pack & play etc. If you take it one big item at a time it will be easier.

I registered online for everything first so I knew when I wanted and finished up in the store.

Another way is to bring the book w/ you to the store. Since the stores are broken up into sections it will help you navigate the book by section.

Good Luck! (I did a TON of research so if you have questions on a produce feel free to FM me!

It is overwhelming, but if you read one part at a time, it's a little less so. I started with the crib, then the mattress and furniture. The other pieces I read little by little and by the time I went to a baby store and did my registry, I pretty much knew what I wanted.

At times when there was a toss-up between products, I read user reviews on the BRU site and that helped a bit too. They were usually pretty much in line with Baby Bargains I found.

Good luck!

this is exactly what we did! I focused on one big item at a time. I knew from the book what items I wanted, and then just had DH give his input for the patterns/colors.

I totally recommend registering on-line, too! It is so much more relaxing. you can't do everything on-line, but we knocked out a good 90-95% on-line.

Thanks! I think it just seemed like so much to do because I was trying to read first and then register later, but it makes much more sense to tackle one thing at a time and slowly register as you go along!

I used that book the way you would use an encyclopedia - there's NO WAY I would ever consider reading the whole thing cover to cover. I took it with me to BRU and then flipped to the sections on the specific items I was looking at in order to choose.

It helped me a lot!
