is 2 months before your EDD too early for your shower?
trying to plan my shower with my mom but running into some problems.
i'm due June 30 and i have 2 showers to go to in June which makes it hard. May i only have 1 weekend as an option since its mothers day, DH's bday, memorial day, not to mention communion season.
i was thinking April 30. is that too early? i'd be 31 weeks

I dont think its too early. Better earlier than too late where it gets too close to your due date.

I ran into this very same problem (we have family weddings, communions and showers during april may and june). I am due July 9. My Shower is April 16. I will be 28 weeks. I say do what is best for you.

DEFINITELY not too early!! I'm having 2 baby showers. The first one was in New York with my family (since that's where I've lived until 2 years ago when I got married and moved to CO). I couldn't fly in my 3rd trimester so the shower was around 6 months (24/25 wks along) and that worked out PERFECT because I was able to get things set up, as well as shop for things I still needed wihout feeling rushed. My 2nd one in Colorado with DH's family is this weekend - I'll be 38 weeks along and it stresses me out how late they've waited to throw it for me. I keep worrying that I'll go into labor AT the shower,or the day after and not have time to get things together (since there's still stuff I need, but I'm waiting to order until AFTER the shower).
So in my opinion, the earlier the better.

Definitely not to early. I think mine is late at 36 weeks. I think 32 is perfect.

i think anything later is cutting it too close...many girls go early and this way you have plenty of time to get everything set up!

Not too early at all! Just like people have different times periods between their bridal shower and wedding, we all have reasons for having a shower closer or further away from our EDDs!

I had mine at 32 weeks and it gave me enough to do returns, get everything ready.

Not at all. I had my shower with DS when I was 33 weeks, and this time my mom threw me a sprinkle when I was 28 weeks.

That sounds good to me. I'm hoping mine is in May with a 7/4 EDD, but I think it's June 5th, because my mother told me to keep the date open for my sister's graduation party  She picked an awful date timing wise for my bridal shower, so I wouldn't be surprised if she picked an awful one for the baby shower as well.

I will be exactly 31 weeks at my shower. I wanted to be 30 weeks but that date was booked. I wanted the shower to be in 'the safe zone' but not too late that I will be huge and uncomfortable, so I think 30 weeks is perfect, JMO.
