Is 15 months too big for an infant seat?
My neighbor has a 15 month old and she still uses the Snugride. Isn't this a little big for the infant seat? My boys were both out of the infant seat by 6months, DD maybe a little longer. I don't know why this irks me so much, I'm usually a live and let live person esp when it doesn't impact me. I guess it just seems very dangerous. Am I crazy?

My dd was in it until 12 months and honestly...she fit in it. I agree that some of the others are really too small. I didnt change seats until she sat forward at 1. I had been shocked how many people were changing at 6 months. I guess it depends on how big your child is as well. 15 months seems extreme. Plus I wanted her to turn around and see the world.

I guess it really depends on how big the baby is. If Jack was under the weight/height limit....I would still be using mine regardless of age. I loved that car seat and frame stroller.

Yeah Im not sure of her weight/height. Shes a peanut but not that peanut-y. My DD was only 20 lbs when she was a year but the height made a difference. I mean, the kid's feet are dangling down, I though they weren't supposed to be hanging over the side.
I guess I should MYOB

15 months is a long time - but honestly it goes by weight and height so if she is really small maybe she still fits into it. DD is 9 months and still fits into hers - I thought she would be out of it by now and people are always surprised to see that at 9 months she fits into hers - but hey if it works for your neighbor then I wouldn't worry about it. The infant seat makes errands so much easier I am dreading when she outgrows hers.

DD turned 9 months the other day and we switched her over that day to her Britax. She seems more comfy in it, but I miss that seat terribly, with the Bundle Me and all-- it was soooo much easier. She was still fitting in the Snugride, and would have for a little bit longer too probably, and people were always stunned she was in it too.
I miss it

I was told DD was too tall for the infant seat when she was 6 months old.
If the 15 month old is on the small side and doesn't exceed the height/weight limit, it's not so bad. But I can't imagine having DD in one of those now and shes's 15 months old.

Samantha, our peanut, is still in her safe seat (its a 30 lb one!) at 18 mos....we really use it as a snap out seat unless we are going in/out of the house and daycare but it is so handy and we definitely got our money's worth!!

If the 15 month old is within the height and weight limits then it is the safest place for her.

Interesting. I really thought most kids were done with them by at least a year old. I still think this child is too big for it based on how her legs hang but maybe I'm wrong. I didn't know so many kids were still in them older. Also I hear what some of you are saying about using it for the car itself but the mother puts the baby in it to go for a walk too (in a regular stroller, not a Snap & Go)- I wonder why... I don't even know why I care. Maybe I'm a nosier person than I thought

I would think it is strange. I have seen people using it and there kids legs are hanging off it - now that can't be safe. And at 15 mos for walks? how does the kid look around and see anything - by that age they should want to see the world?!
I guess both my boys hit the height limit by 3/4 months of 26 inches and moved out by 5 months....so it is very hard for me to imagine a kid going 15 months.

Sounds like this mom doesn't want to accept her baby is growing up.

I dk...I honestly didn't remember from my first two-
the twins doc is a pedatician and a neonatologist...I asked him this question specifically***
if even comfirmed it when I switched them on the side of the box
1 year old 20 pounds...
I said well what if they aren't 20 pounds?
he said most one year old are thats why its on there that by one--all babies belong in the next car seat..
That mother is wrong...hopefully the baby sill be alright.
Like I said..it also says one year old on the side of my Britax box
