So DH blames it on "cultural differences" but for some reason, I can't seem to ever understand in what culture it's ok to say "oh it looks like you're really enjoying food, you can see your face is getting fat!" and even if it was ok in their culture, I'm not from that culture, so dont say it to me!!!!!

spanish peeps have no filter at ALL!!!!!!! its one of the many things i hate about my family. ive learned that it makes me feel so much better when im just as mean and nasty back to them.

I don’t know why people think it’s ok to do and say anything to a pregnant woman.
Would these people say these same things to a non pregnant person who was putting on a little weight? I don’t get it.

awwwww...hopefully after they realized you didnt like the comment they wont say it again. When you're pregnant there's alot of topics pple shouldnt talk about!
i do think it could be a cultural difference, with my family they will call you fat or point out the weight gain in regular conversation as if it was a greeting! def have to have a thick skin around them...SMH

I know the feeling...with my last 3 pregnancies, people used to look at me and say, I guess you carry in the back. Waiting to see what this time they are going to say.

I hear ya.. was at a BBQ at my in-laws house over the weekend, and all the old ladies were saying (in spanish) how big I am.. I know the word "grande" people!!! I cant.

Next time someone says something like that I would give them the nastiest look I can and say "That's very rude and I don't appreciate it." Hopefully I would embarrass them in front of whoever else was around. I don't know much about cultures aside from my own but I don't know of anyone would would enjoy such a comment.

I love how people think it's ok to say whatever they want to pregnant women!! My FIL told me more than once that my face looks pregnant. Um yes my face will fill out you don't need to point out!!
I also had a woman at work ask me to turn around and then after looking at my butt says "oh yea! I think you're having a girl!"
If you don't have anything nice to say then shut up!!

I get the opposite. Everyone says Im carrying great and I don't even look pregnant from the front which is annoying b/c I should look pregnant at almost 23 weeks with twins.
