Irritable baby after Hep B vaccine or change in formula?

My DD had her one month checkup yesterday. The ped suggested changing to Gentlease formula due to my reports that she is gassy at times and does not burp well. She also had her second hep B shot. Today, she is so much fussier than usual. During the morning and early evening, she screamed whenever she was put down anywhere for more than 2 minutes. She had a hard time napping as well, and woke up screaming. She does seem to be less gassy, and has pooped several times, making me think that the increased irritability is more due to the hep b shot than the formula. However, during a couple of feedings, she repeatedly pushed the bottle out of her mouth and screamed, wanting it back. She eventually ate well, but definitely struggled. What do you experienced mommies think?

I can def. see it being from the shots. I remember a few times after shots her being beastly and irritable. It would last up to 36 hours or so.

My DD didnt have any problems with formual as she was bottle fed expressed milk but I know exactly what you are talking about. She would start the bottle, push it out, scream, take the bottle and on and on. I have no clue what caused this. Sometimes I wouold wonder if it was what I was eating but never really found any connections. One thing I would find to help would be to take a break for a few then try again.

For me, I found those first few months to be rough with things like that, random crying, irritableness etc. It gets better!!

early on shots bothered my DS-particularly the Dtap which was given at his 8-9 wk. i used gentlease after BFing and found it really helped with gas and fussiness. it was well worth it. good luck-it's hard to know what is really bothering them at that age

We switched to gentlease when ds was about that age. From what I read, that formula tastes much different and takes a bit to get used to. I think it is the shot making her the most irritable bc her leg is soar on top of everything else. Have u given tylenol? If it is the formula she will get used to it soon. Once DS got adjusted to it he was a totally different baby and we still use it 9 months later.

Also, just fyi in case you didn't know already, we use Target Up and Up version of the formula. Exact same thing and almost half the cost.

Our two month shots were bad for DS. I think it was the DTap though. That was it, he's been fine ever since then with his shots.
