ipod advice
I haven't been using my nike + since the summer when I put my new power soles in an it stopped being able to register my milage. I have a garmin as well, but I do like to use both (I like the music too), since I like the sensitivity of the NIKE+ (and the slowgeek charts)
after a race (where it died within 2 miles), I put it in my pocket and forgot about it and washed it. So while it was broken before, I couldn't use my warranty, since the water mar was switched inside the ipod.
I can get the same unit (2009 model) for $99 with 2.5 month warranty left. Buy another year warranty for $30 = $129.
or I can buy the new little one for $179 (I need the 16GB).
The new one looks really cool and small so that you can clip it to your shirt, but the touch screen makes me nervous. I like to be able to adjust volume or go to the next song with it in my pocket or out of sight KWIM? any experience with it?
or do I go a different way?

Re: ipod advice
Did you try to see if they would give you a new ipod with your warranty? I washed mine once, brought it to best buy and they didn't ask any questions- just gave me a new one.
If that didn't/doesn't work, I would go with "old faithful." I'm not a fan of touch screens. Especially during a race- you touch it the wrong way you could turn it off or something.

Re: ipod advice
I would go for the $99. It seems the touch screen is too complicated for running, I like to just feel the wheel to change the song. I can't imagine having to use a touch screen while running!
