inviting friends to shower......

are you inviting all your friends? honestly after marriage i kinda drifted away from alot of my friends...i still talk to them but its not the same.....theres really only 2 friends i want invited to my shower but i dont want to hurt anyones feelings. A few of them never even rsvp'd to my wedding which im annoyed about so i kinda feel like u dont deserve to be invited u know? what should i do? there is going to be alot of people as it is...and if i invite friends i kinda feel like i have to entertain them

Re: inviting friends to shower......

I was on the fence with certain people, but ended up inviting them because I knew they would be happy to be included. I think we are going to end up getting a lot of regrets, so I am glad I did end up inviting them.

Re: inviting friends to shower......

I don't know how you do it? I would never speak to someone if they did'nt show respect and respond to my wedding..

I told off the people who didn't respond to my shower and then I have those who did'nt respond, don't intend on sending a gift either.. and they want me to do something for them.. SUREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I am so happy I saw the light!!!!!!!
So I was able to weed people out..

Re: inviting friends to shower......

I was in the same boat as you. Since I wanted to keep my shower small, I decided to invite onyl 2 of my closest friends who I can honestly say have been there for me over the last year. I am not worried about hurting anyone's feelings at this point.

Re: inviting friends to shower......

I won't be inviting the friends that didn't come to my bridal shower or my wedding (same people). They obviously don't feel I am important enough for those things, they will not be included in this.

Re: inviting friends to shower......

If someone didn't RSVP to my wedding they certainly would not be getting an invite to my baby shower. I only invited my close work friends and the friends that I speak to on a regular basis.

Re: inviting friends to shower......

If I had people that didn't RSVP to my wedding I most certainly would NOT invite them to my baby shower. There were a bunch of people that were invited to my bridal shower that come and didn't send a gift - some are invited to the baby shower b/c they are family and have to be invited, but those that aren't were left off the list even if they ultimately came to the wedding.

Re: inviting friends to shower......

To my wedding I probably invited 20 friends, to my baby shower I invited about 10, 2 of which I know can't come due to location.

To my shower I only invited the friends I am still close with, talk to somewhat regular, either via email or phone or see. And the wives of DHs close friends. I didnt want to invite people just for the sake of inviting someone.

Only my Dear Friends/Family friends were invited. I saw no need for random friends to be there.
ETS: this was for my main shower. I was given a shower at home in GA with coworkers and friends from here.

I thought you weren't getting married til '08? In fact, you only posted a month or 2 ago that you were getting married in a few months....?

we bumped the wedding due to DC....our wedding would have been a few weeks after DC was born and i didnt want to deal with all the stress of wedding plans and a newborn.
