invite/ gift advice- asking for a friend

is this OK to say on a child's birthday invitation-- friend has space issues & too much crap already!

"Please no presents for X. if you do so feel inclined to give, X has a savings account set up."

or could you suggest a cute saying that expresses the feeling better?

I think that sounds tacky with the savings account line.

I would put "your presence is your present". OR...because most people won't come emtpy handed, have them bring a gift that will be donated to an organization like the Ronald McDonald House or Birthday Wishes of Long Island. We did that for my DD's birthday one year. Everyone brought a gift to donate. Some people brought my DD a gift also...which wasn't necessary!

I would put your presence is your present since I am assuming this is for an adult, and really shouldn't be receiving bday gifts at this age anyway. If people are so inclined, they will bring a bottle of something.

The simple answer....No, that is not ok to say.

If you don't want gifts, you say no gifts, you don't ask for money.

Don't say anything. If she doesn't want a lot of toys she can donate what she doesn't want.

this or nothing at all. But IMO no one is going to come either way to a kids party without a gift.

And when asked I would feel so weird telling someone to just give money for their savings and kinda weird being asked to give money for savings.

Plus its not that fun for the kid. She is better off asking for gift card and specifically gift cards maybe to do activities.

I always ask my good friend get her kids. Last one was she said really I want him to have swim lesson. I was going to get a gift card but I didn't and ended up giving cash.

People will usually ask what the kid likes and she can suggest gift cards. You can't ask for money.

Asking for no gifts is always awkward and asking for money is tacky IMO no matter how cutely you word it-- people are going to bring something--maybe your friend could ask people for donations to a local charity in lieu of gifts- my local animal shelter gets manydonations from kids asking for donations instead of birthday gifts
