Introducing Myself (In hiding) LOL...
Semi-Regular poster with family on the boards - Wanted to ask you ladies some questions without being outted by family (don't want to deal with the pressure and questions) - DH and I got married a few months ago and hopefully this will be our home for a little while...
DH and I spoke today about TTC and we said that I would go and have all of my tests done to make sure I have a hospitable uterus that it would make a happy home to a peanut - once we have clearance we are going to TTC! Left a message for my OB/GYN a little while ago!! - Anyone know what types of tests they run for this kind of thing?
We are planning on being done by the time DH is 35... He is 33 now and we want 2... so hopefully all goes well and then I can ask you lovelies a bunch of questions.... Thanks ladies!

Welcome, good luck! Are you over 35? Have you TTC before? Do you have any issues that might make it difficult to get/stay pregnant?
When we first approached my GYN about TTC it was at my annual appointment. She simply said that we should stop using BC two months BEFORE TTC, and at that point start taking at least 800 mcgs of Folic Acid every day.
TTC and that's it. And this is with having a couple of issues that may present a problem. There were no specific tests run etc.

Welcome
I asked my Dr. the same thing, assuming that there was some sort of 'test' that they run to make sure that all the parts are running correctly. Nope, my Dr. just said to go off my BC, start taking a PreNatal vitamin , and that i could expect to get pregnant any moment after that, but realistically that it would take about 3 mos. for my cycle to become regular again. So, just relax, enjoy BD'ing and see what happens!

No health problems on either side, we have never TTC - I am under 25 so no AMA factors to consider.. I have to start my new contraceptive next week so we shall see.. most likely going out to pick up vitamins tonight ... got to be healthy

Sounds good then! When do you want to start TTC? I ask because I was told (and have seen that others on this board were also told) to go off BC 2 months before starting to TTC. So keep that in mind!

They don't really do any tests before your start TTC. You will have a regular pap done (if you're due for it) and they will tell you to start taking prenatals. And that's about it. Unless you have risk factors or are looking to have genetice tests, there's not really much more to it.
